Default plain jane subs

just had my amp and sub box wired in and it looks great but the box is just plain. It holds 2 mtx 10" subs that face up/back. Ive been searching for a color organ type dealeo that will pulsate leds to the beat of the music.

A coworker said he'd seen LED rings that fit around the speakers but no more info.

I like doing car shows, not audio shows, so I just want a little eye candy back there to make it interesting

FWIW, I searched and discovered that if you simply hook up an LED to the pos/neg wire to your subs they will flash to the beat.

I didnt know this was so, I took an old LED map light and holder/base and connected it and danged if it didnt flash

My amp has the ability to set the display in several colors so now Im wondering what color LED to use. My map lights are green so maybe greeen Of course I imagine flashing blue back there would really intrigue the cops but maybe my tint will keep it from being so visible.

Tip to you sir-

BE SUPER CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS. That coming from someone who got to inhale the distinct smell of burning SRT6.

totally cool unexpected surprise! Just tried a red interior led type 194 bulb to see how it looks at night as the bass kicks. Ive a 10" Life is good static decal in my back window and now when the led flashes it lights up the decal (which is white) to look almost like a 3rd brake light.

FWIW, heres what I ended up doing

took a 5 led bar and sunk it into the box, wired it to speaker. I was surprised to see that the harder the bass hit the more leds light, kinda figured they'd all just flash but its a progressive flash like my old equalizer use to make.

I know its a far cry from the systems some people have but just thought it was kinda cool for only 6 bucks
