Default CD stuck

well i've had her less than 2 weeks and i've already experienced the rattle hatch, sticky key, fog light lens falling off and now the CD is stuck. hit the eject button and nothing, hit the cd button and it says no disc on the readout when in fact i know it's in there. anyone have a good fix or experienced this problem? Thanks

Sure, it makes you grazy right?

My hint is to turn of car, take out ignition key, insert back in and power on (not start) while holding eject button. Works for me (not always..)

Hatch is an easy fix. Adjust the bumpers or put a couple slim / thin clear bumpers where the bumpers set on the hatch frame. No rattles.

The sticky ignition issue ........ all these feel sticky, even when new. Make sure you turn the steering wheel to loosen the tension on the switch before turning -- it help and will help longevity of the switch. Other than that, I'd suggest doing the fix. I haven't done it yet either (only 14K miles on mine right now) but will likely do it within the next year or so.

WRT the fog light, I bet it was stuck on by the previous owner or the dealer as a temp fix. You may want to take it back and have them do it (it's worth a shot anyway). If not, there's a number of ways to get it on and seal it.

Not sure what to do about the CD other than try what previous thread noted.

Hope you have better luck going forward. The cars are a lot of fun, as long as they don't become a pain in the ****..........

I find I have this problem on some of the CDs I've burned myself but not with one that I have purchased. Shutting off the radio and the car and then turning them both on usually does the trick for me.

Stuck CD, yeah I want to keep the XF as original as possible, but the CD loader keeps rattling when I start, then no CD or sometimes it does work.

I took out the drive and had a look whats going on. Seems the laser cage want to return to center and does not sense it's there yet.

I cleaned the laser and it seemed to help 1 CD. Now it's back at rattling.

Anyone dealt with this and or fixed?

Extra question, is the speed dependent volume done in the radio or the amplifier?

tnx
