Question Subs vs rear hatch

For those of you running larger subs in coupes... Any issues with the rear hatch rattling? I want to use a pair of 10" subs in the trunk, but I'm concerned about the rear glass and hatch lock mechanism.

Don't think thats a problem. But would recommend to position the speakers not against the window if you want to built up a db drag car (or something like that). I had some troubles with noise from trimming of the hatch. Was causes by peace of plastic that had loosend itself because of high bass levels.

Thanks to both of you for the info. I feel a bit better now about putting subs in the trunk area.

No interest in competitions really. Just looking for something that satisfies my need to "feel" the music as well as hear and enjoy it. But at the same time, I'm not looking to announce my arrival to everyone within a city block, If you know what I mean.

Thanks again!

I have two twelve inch kicker cvrs and the only problem i have had is the hatch loosening toward the bottom. It is easily fixed with a star wrench and moving the metal piece that holds that hatch down a little bit. Other then that, everyone is always blown away by how good it sounds inside the car.

I have to say whn a stereo system has a good chance of ruining the body and rear hatch of a car, maybe it is just the wrong adult thing to do.

Bring it up and they'll tell ya "It's not too loud ... you're too old "

As my older brothers used to tell folks back in the day...

I have 10" alpine r in a sealed box. Plastic around hatch does rattle a bit on serious bass lines but no rattle outside. Spolier vibrates and so do mirrors lol
