I'm curious if anyone has a similar DVD stereo to this one. This one is a Pyle PLD51MUBT and it's on sale for $163 at Sears. It has a 5" display and plays just about anything. It also comes with a USB input on the face of the unit and accepts a rear-view camera.

I'm considering buying one but would like some feedback first.

Not that my opinion counts, but.......... IT IS FUGLY! It looks like an out of place wart on the dash.

 

It's function over form for me.

By the way, I stayed at the Warner Robins Hampton Inn the other day while traveling for work. I've got a project down the road from there with First Quality. Next time I drive down to check the progress we should hit the track.

I have sold Pyle for six years and not a one ever came back. Your pic is of that one in my car. I sold it a few months ago. I did have the rear view camera and loved on our car! Some people think they know everything, big company's put different names on other units. They are made by a bigger company I just can't tell anyone.

I also don't like the look of the stereo. It looks like someone gave you a stereo from another car & come h*ll or high water you are going to make it fit in your ride. At the end of the day I guess it only matter what you like.

 

I would have already purchased it if had been satellite ready, as I'm more concerned with the functionality of the stereo than the aesthetics. I'm now sort leaning toward the JVC KD-AVX44 or 77.

 

Not that it matters what I think but in my opinion that is a way cleaner look!

 

The "cleaner look" does come with a much steeper price though.

 

Isn't that always the way?!? The better it looks, the more it costs. I think the only exception is the SRT bumper.

This is a nice unit, but I haven't found the HD tuner for it.

 

So 100 you are right but there is more that what you found. You can't find everything on the net. Also you get what ever radio makes you happy! At least you are willing to put new one in, lot of members must be stock.

 

I am stock Nav unit, I always was tone deaf and now I'm getting deaf as well. I can only carry a tune in a portable player of some kind, so all units sound the same to me, the only difference I can see is the price.

 

I decided on the jvc kd-avx44 instead of the 77 due to the quick mute function. I've ordered the stereo, harness, camera, satellite receiver and interface, etc to make it work. Install is this weekend if everything arrives and works as expected.
