Have a look under the foam block under the mat in the trunk on the right side. If there is water in the well in which the pump sits you have probably found your problem.
If not.
Sorry.
Thanks mate i will check that first thing in the morning.
I got the car towed back home from the dealers so its back outside the house. Im hoping i can half the price of their estimated charge.

I am having similar issues. Does yours say "Start Error" on the odometer display when trying to start? I took a video of this the last time I had the problem (last night).

With the help of 32Krazy, Tighed1, and Rcompart (big thanks to both for their help) we've done the following:
1. Repaired K40 RCM (sent and received back from Tighed1 for repair)
2. Replaced Crank Position Sensor with new Bosch part
The problem still persisted, although randomly.
Rudy saw my video and suggested I look at the immobilizer system.
So last night I did some searching on here for some more info on this and decided to try my spare key. Although it cannot be determined that the spare solves the problem 100% (since it is a randomly occurring issue), I can say that of all the times I tried to start the car yesterday with the spare, it worked when the main key failed and generated the start error message.
Oh and yes, I did put fresh batteries out of the package into the main key before I tried the spare, in case you were wondering. My spare key is a spare for a reason: the buttons are worn out and it doesn't seem to operate the keyless entry despite repeated attempts at programming it to the car (probably because it has already been programmed before)
I took the main key apart and was unable to determine visually if there was anything wrong with the circuitboard since I'm not an electronics expert, so for my peace of mind, I decided I might look into a new key from Mercedes.
I called my local dealer this morning and got a quote of $165 for a new key, which is in the price range I have seen for a key from MB, although your Chrysler keys seem to cost much less from what I've read here
I am going to drop the cover under the steering wheel and check the wiring around the key receptacle (halo ring) to make sure everything there is ok while I wait for the key to be made.
I don't know if this helps you or not but I thought I'd share my very similar experiences. Hopefully it helped or reassured you somewhat.

Hello guys, sorry about the delay in replying as i have been away.
It is none of the above im affraid.
Chrysler informed me the Immobiliser Control Unit. This is going to cost £1032! They cannot tell me when the part can be delivered as no one in the UK or Italy has them, so its going to have to come from the US..Time frame unknown...
This is the part number - C05099540AA
If anyone would know where i could get this part and cheaper, i would be very grateful.
Many thanks

Thanks for that info mate.
Its funny because when i checked the paperwork earlier it stated that the fault was # and N/STK CONTROL DOOR
I was told the fault was something do with the immobiliser??
The Technician is in tomorrow so i will call back then i try to come up with an explanation.
Once again mate, thanks for that info

Just spoke to the mechanic who looked at the car and he has told me he thinks its the 'Skreem module'
Not sure why the front desk idiot told me something else.
Is there anyone who would know how much these cost and if its a headache to replace?
Thanks

Wish i wouldve read the 'Skreem module' thread earlier............That is exacrtly what is wrong with my car and to make matters worse, i think my car has attempted to be started the 'dreaded' 30 times! I take it that now i have a f@&ked ECU.....GREAT!

Its called a SCREEM module cause you actually scream when you hear how much it costs for the dealer to fix it!
