Audio Upgrade HELP!!
Hi all!
I have a 2005 Base coupe (no premium sound system), and recently upgraded the head unit to an Alpine CDE-121, and love it so far.
Except for one big problem:
The head unit is stuck in the console. Apparently the radio removal keys for the CDE-121 go along the outside edges of the stereo, and there isn't enough room to slide the keys in. Obviously I don't need to be taking it in/out every day, but within the next couple of weeks I will need to access the rear of the unit to wire up an Infinity Basslink- is there a way to access this WITHOUT removing the headunit? Any other suggestions
Which brings me to my next questions:
I like the sound of my new head unit, but thought about getting the Alpine KTP-445 Power Pack, which would increase my output by 4 x 45 Watts RMS - Is this worth getting with the base stock speakers? Will they be able to handle this, or will I need new components too?
Thanks!

Alpine doesn't use removal keys.
Did you use the metal housing that came with the hu?
I don't think that the Alpine KTP-445 Power Pack will improve the sound dramatically. I would recommend to put some new tweeters in the a pillars. Add a crossover and level them with the fader of the hu.

I think it requires a key to remove the HU from the mounting bracket sleeve...
As for the Power Pack, I'm actually pretty satisfied (at least for now) with the quality, I'm just looking for a little bit more oomph for when I drive with the windows down

As far as i know every Alpine hu's has locking a mechanism, which is a little pin on the left and right side that you have to put up with a small screw driver. Example picture:

The CDE-121 has 4 x 18 Watt RMS and is around 100 USD.
The KTP-445 has 4 x 45 Watt RMS and is around 130 USD.
Don't know if there are other tiny amps in the U.S. available. The pro for the KTP-445 is the easy install. Over here in europe you'll get better sounding 2 channel amps for the same money.
