Will the OEM infinity radio (non Nav) play a Mp3 cd?

 

Unfortunately, no. Sorry. Wish mine would've too. As it is, I upgraded to the Nav radio and am in the process of purchasing the iPod/mp3 adapter from Rudy.

 

Go aftermarket.
1. 5v preamp output
2. front USB ( put ur mp3's on one of those tiny thumb drives )
3. Bluetooth ( you'll thank yourself later )

If you look under Marine head units, you can find some silver ones that match pretty close.

 

Color may not match.. but I love it and no regretts whatsoever..this is the 500 - mine is the 501, not sure if any differences..

Built in mic works fine.. no complaints on any calls from the other end..
And of course had to add the accessory

How easy was the install? I'm definitely considering putting in a new dash to play mp3s and all. Does it just fit snugly into the old spot?

 

Just get the Scosche wireing adapter.. and euro to male antenna adapter to go with it.. snug fit..
Only "issue" if you will is the clarion mount adapter has no prongs to lock it in. Some used dble sided tape.. I personally had a teeny screw I put in the upper right hand side of the bracket.. holds it just fine. One thing.. I caught it in the stereo thread.. positive red lead swaps with the memory lead if I remember correctly. And that lead (memory) was loose with my adapter..so I had to pick a slot.. but the thread points out what is what in pictures.

I did just this which is the easy - down and dirty method.. plan on going back and breaking out the leads to the factory amp for "rear speaker" controls and run the sub rca leads to the back of the stereo for full control of it..(trunk mounted bass cannon with built in amp..currently just tapped into stock wireing before the amp).
