Default $250 to replace rear speakers???

I'll start by saying I know little to none about audio setups and the science behind it...

With the rear sub blown, I ordered a set of Kicker CVT652's because my research on the forum lead me to believe that these would be the best option.

Today i wet to the local audio shop with speakers in hand and he told me that they would sound terrible because they are "just subs" and the" 2ohm replacement wouldn't sound good in the car yadda yadda..."

Then he says he wants to order a set of JBL GT0628 and install them for a total of $250.

Audio experts - Am I getting hustled?

I would think being stuck behind the seats you would be wasting your money. They are subs now for a reason.

What he said. 2ohm vs 4ohm might be an issue, but you want subs. No need for tweets or mids.
