I can't say which stereo is better, factory or the Kenwood. Since the cabin is so small, your practically sitting inside a speaker. Unless you are a very sensitive stereo person, the sound is great to me, as you said, subjective. I would be curious to know what iPhone vent mount you have for horizontal viewing. Mine is a vertical vent iPhone holder. I'm trying to get the iTunes to NOT engage when I plug in the USB for charging. What a pain to have iTunes turn on and hear that same Beatle song kick in (must be top of the list). Then, it is sometimes difficult to stop the iTunes from playing. Any suggestions how to disengage the default so iTunes does not engage?? Thanks.

Ok two things

The USB port on your radio is not just a simple power source.
It enables the phone to use the radio speakers
So plug into a USB power plug in you lighter socket
They are avail on eBay with a flat cable that will tuck under your console trim to the phone mount
I bought my mount from ProClip online they are not free but worth every dime
Get the right one for your phone and if you use a case they can fit that too
I have a life proof case on a 4s
And can position the phone horizontal or vetical

Just out of curiosity, is there any after market radio with a cd where you do not need to change any harnesses and it just plugs and plays into a Coupe. Thanks

Yes. I believe most, if not all the Blaupunkt single DIN's are P&P.
I have a Melborne SD27, I KNOW it's P&P, although it does not have a CD slot.
It has a SD slot, and plays those pretty well.
I don't use it, I prefer the old ALPINE I have.

Thanks, really want one with a cd and we have loads and swap between cars. Don't like connecting my phone or having leads all over the place even on bluetooth.

Brilliant thanks, wonder if and what they charge to ship to Oz. Can't find anything on their website so will have to chat online when they are open.

I had a online chat with them, they do NOT ship outside US.

You could paypal me $150 + $62 for shipping to Oz.
I'd order it, then could reship to you via USPS "Priority Mail International® Medium Flat Rate Box" - says 6 - 10 days for delivery.

( or $150 + $85 shipping for "Priority Mail Express International™ Flat Rate Boxes"
that's 3-5 days delivery.

I completely understand if you do not want to do this, there are trust issues involved and you really don't know me.

If anyone has info on how to stop the iTunes from turning on when cycling through the Kenwood menu, this direction would be great.

No one else has mentioned this, even on the stereo install page.

This was your experience?

I just want to make sure I get it all correct the first time.

I have this stuff selected which Crutchfield says does not work with my `05 SRT6 Coupe

Thanks for the offer but in the meantime I emailed the company who I purchased the adapters from yesterday asking if they could change my order and would they combine shipping if I ordered a Kenwood kmr-D558bt. Didn't think of looking for the radio at the time I purchased the leads. They have the Kenwood for $10 cheaper than Crutchfiled. Not much I know but they will ship the lot for $45 compared to $18 for just the leads so I got it from them.

One thing I wasn't too happy about is that they didn't reply they just changed the order and requested the difference I think they read my email as, "can you change the order" not "will you be able to change the order if I want". Anyway it was paid with Paypal so have some protection if it doesn't turn up. It was this company by the way. Car Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers Thanks.

Good deal.
BTW, that's Sonic Electronix, as well respected as Crutchfield.
I always shop both of them when looking at radio equipment.

Now wouldn't mind one of them. Turns out USPS recycle their tracking numbers and 24 hours after it arrives at their hub sure enough it's now scheduled to me. Strange system !!!

That's good because I didn't really want to swap it out its just that the cd is playing up. I was going to mount my mike by the mirror as well, think I may have seen one of your post showing it there.

The mic cord that came with the head unit was long enough when I ran it around the passengers side. I use Slaker on my Samsung s5 all the time through the Bluetooth.
How long till your unit comes in and I can keep a eye out on thread if you have any ?'s
