Default Replacing Door Speakers?

So when I bought my 6 the drivers was pretty much gone, and now the passengers is. I enjoy my music I like it up a bit loud (yeah I'm 18) so does anyone have any suggestions on what may be good to replace my door speakers with and if you can a link to a how-to to removing them?

SouthernBronco: I replaced mine with Infinity 6.5 2 way 180 watts under

the direction and advice of Maxichion: very savvy in this field. I then installed 270 bass blocker caps to , in effect, give me more control of the bass to the subs...works beautifully and sounds fantastic...I too like my music loud (yes I'm 75 yrs old LOL)...having been road manager for a hard rock band in the late 80s early 90s....

The Infinitys cost around 50.00 for the pair...Carl

Carl, do these subs replace the original or do they fill up the trunk space?

Evan: The speaker fitment is perfect (hole line-up, etc), except for the fact that the larger magnet protrudes beyond the "firewall" just a tad. I ordered replacement speaker grilles that have a slight convex and secured them to the wall with velcro...works great and sounds great

tighed: This is the sub I replaced the OEM's with: PYLE PLPW6D 6" 600 watt Dual 4 ohm Subs...To me the bass is on spot...I listen to a lot of hard rock in which I want highs and mids to be clean land crisp...and a definite aggressive/powerful bottom end to thump!!...I feel these give me that...Carl

I bought my SRT6 about 3 months ago, both subs were blown (the foam ring had disintegrated). I didn't know that this could be fixed before, but after a search found replacement foam rings from Parts Express, and now they work great! I was able to get the thump that was missing when I bought the car. My new Infinity speakers for the front will be arriving tomorrow from Amazon (thanks to Carl and Maxichon for the info!)

Evan: I failed to mention that there is some Dremmel work that has to be done on the speaker enclosure so that the magnet wil fit...very minor...Carl

A man after my own loud and proud heart. But at 57 I have to admit my mom was right, that rock and roll will make you a little deaf!

Any problems with the fit, or did they install in the openings just fine? I have JBL components that required a little trimming of the metal opening to accommodate the larger magnets but the sound is a 10 fold improvement. Only other thing I'd recommend is that you apply some sound deadening to the door while you have it opened up. They do vibrate very easily.

I glued the tweeters into the stock location and put the crossovers in the kick panels under the dash. The speakers fit perfectly.

My infinity speakers sound crystal clear because I also have a Kenwood 955HD instead of the stock infinity sound deck. Infinity Reference 6032 CF Speakers in the doors, and fantastic sound overall now.

Just picked up the 6.5 Infinity replacement for $70 miss-marked at Best Buy in Raleigh NC. I couldn't believe it when I saw the price. You could get lucky too! I had planned to give the stock speakers a shot after I did the head unit but couldn't resist.
