Default LED Door Projectors

Has anyone ever installed or used LED Door Projectors or LED Ghost Shadow Lights before? They are the lights that once you open your door, the light projects an emblem or logo on the ground. Because I have recently purchased a set of LED Door Projectors. They were supposed to come with an install guide. Well the install guide is vague and pretty much garbage. The install guide is literally on the back of the box and reads as follows...

Step One: Remove the Door Panel
-Snap off the panel located on inside of the door

Step Two: Use the Hole Saw
-Drill out correct size hole fro projector light

Step Three: Wiring to Power
-Connect red and black wires to ground and power

Which sound very simple but are also very vague. There is no actual guide that walks you through the instillation process, especially with hooking the wiring up. To be completely honest I have no idea where to begin with wiring these lights. I had a couple thoughts about wiring them to the lower interior door lights on the door, but have no idea about the ground. Like, if I could just wire the ground to a metal part of the door. Kind of like when hooking up an amp for subwoofers. Like I said though I'm completely clueless. So any and help would be much appreciated along with any diagrams of what the door would look like with the panel removed or anything along those lines. I just don't want to do anything that would fry my electrical system or catch my doors on fire.

PS: Sorry if there is a thread addressing this issue, I couldn't find one.

I will never use a emblem LED projector that wants me to CUT into the door sheetmetal. Nope, not interested in more rust prone areas lol.

My car is a daily driver, so the salt on the streets of Chicago is enough for me to not want any bare sheet metal.

You're not drilling into any part of the door frame, it's into the plastic of the door panel. At least that's what I'm getting from the install videos.

The are already 4 1.25" or so holes in the metal part of each door plugged with plastic plugs, 2 at the front and 2 at the back.

Really? I never noticed there were holes under the XF doors. I haven't had much time the past couple days to look into getting these installed.

Did you figure out how to install?
Also, which LED projectors are you using? Using the chrysler or mercedes logo?
Thanks,

This is a three year old thread and the OP has not posted in over two years, maybe you are wasting your time.
Lights to show the ground at night are cool but logos are a bit ricer don't you think.
