Default The Next Stage of Stereo Upgrade.

So I have Excellent sound quality at this point.

The kenwood, pyle subs, infinity speaker upgrade, and caps. Now, I am ready to take it to the next level.

My plan....

2 more 6.5 inch infiniti speakers for the Sub location. tweets and woofs.

1 (4)channel amp to live where the stock amp lives now.

AudiobahnŽ AMA12004H - Murdered-Out Series Class AB 4-Channel 1200W Amplifier

1 box style sub (space saver style).
PyleŽ PLBASS10 - 10" Low-Profile Super Slim Active Amplified 1000W Subwoofer System

All new wiring from Amps to speakers.

Anyone know if the amp will fit in place?

I expect more sound from the back of the car. I have great sound up front but I feel like I am missing music, sound, surround effects by not having speakers behind me other than the subs. So more sound, more power, and dedicated 4 channel power.

Any sugguestions? I always like to bounce my ideas off the forum before I start spending $

Dedicated amp and sub would be my 1st upgrade, then sound deadening materials for the doors. Not a big fan of sound coming from the back as I like and truly enjoy the front stage. I am in the process of changing my sound system as well going all active. Picked up Alpine PDX V9 as the heart of the system to replace the factory infinity in the same location under the seat, Dynaudio for the tweets and mids. Have not decided yet on the subs. I am thinking of leaving the factory sub location and doing a fiberglass sub box on the right side of the trunk storage space, removing the foam and replacing with an enclosure for a JL slim 10 inch. Enjoy and keep us posted!

Just thinking out loud here, but by putting full range speakers behind the seats in the factory sub locations, won't they get muffled by the seats, thus not giving you the full range capacity from the speaker?

If you're looking for more of a surround effect, wouldn't it be better to mount full range speakers in the rear compartment and just upgrade the subs behind the seat to something with a little more punch? Since those sub frequencies are not directional (I think), it really won't matter where in the car the subs are - but it will make a difference where you install the full range speakers.

Just my dos centavos.

Pyle is a cheaper brand, I wouldn't say they're horrible. A self powered 10" sub for $175 isn't a bad deal. But assuming 100% efficiency you will only get about 560 watts, so keep that in mind.

Your 4 channel amp is an A/B style which while it does sound good it's not the most efficient which means it will get warm, having it in the foot well might not be the best idea.

For ease of wiring I would run a single 4awg or 1/0 to the rear and then have a distribution block to run a line to the sub amp and the 4 channel. Having the amps accessible will make things easier when setting your gains and crossovers which will require a lot of experimenting to make sure everything is dialed in properly.

My current set up is:

Hifonics BRZ 1200.1d sub amp powering 2 pioneer 12's
Rockford Fosgate t400-4 4 channel powering 2 pairs of Image Dynamics CTX65cs
I have 1/0 OFC wire from NVX running to the trunk and did a big 3 upgrade with the remaining copper I had.

Nice set up.

What loaction did you use for the 2 additional speakers and tweeters?, did you leave the stock subs and their little boxes in place, swap them, I want to know more!

I took my stock rear subs out and put the components in those spots, they are however reverse mounted because the speakers were too tall to fit properly. The tweeter is behind the seat as well closer to the seat belt retracter. I'm still working on cleaning it up, I haven't had a lot of free time the past few months.

Here is a novel thought! Tint your windows and use HEADPHONES. The ticket for tinted windows is much cheaper than the one for excessive noise and you'll still be able to fry your hearing as much as you want without annoying anyone else! Much cheaper too, as you'll save on system components, car harness, car electronics (due to undervoltages during spikes in current) and have money for the fines for tinting and driving with headphones when you don't get em off fast enough LMAO!
