Is there a can bus module for our cars?
I am getting ready to install a new Android head unit in my 2005 SRT6. It has the ability to show things like door open. etc. via can bus connection. Does anyone know if there is a can bus converter module available for our cars?
Thanks in advance.

I think George is right, the service manual, chaper 9, shows two CANs in our cars:
1) Body Control Module - Central Locking Pump/Security System Module - Power Top Control Module (PTCM is Roadster only, of course)
2) Powertrain Control Module - SKREEM - Instrument Cluster - Controller Antilock Brake (Manual Transmissions)
or
2) Powertrain Control Module - SKREEM - Instrument Cluster - Controller Antilock Brake - Shift Lever Assembly - Transmission Control Module (Automatic Transmissions)
Now, the answer is 'no' there is no such module for our cars specifically. Back in 2010/2011, I asked a developer about what version our cars run, he said ours was "-3" which is "The fault-tolerant, low speed, version arranged in a star configuration. This is the less sophisticated, but more reliable version of the two major versions."
He went on to explain that while the voltage levels, impedance and data format are standard, the actual messages sent are not as standard as one would think. He then told me our cars' CAN communications were "outdated by some standards" when the car was built. He spoke of some of the cool things they are doing on the CAN BUS (like described in the video above) and said that our cars were not putting all that much information on the BUS that "modern" cars are. There won't be any information on there about what door is open, altho there will be some data flowing between the BCM and CLP/SSM about movement of windows and status of doors. (When you turn the D handle in a Roadster to put the top down, the Top Module sends a stream of "lower the windows" to the BCM, if you relax the D handle, the stream stops -but there is no data coming back to the Top Module about the position of the windows.)
You won't be doing the neat stuff in that video in the Crossfire, the data just is not there, our cars were built in 2003-7, but that system was designed for the SLK320 in the '90s.

The post title is a little misleading. As I read the full post, he is asking about the availability of a "can bus converter module", so that he can have the new head unit either communicate with the car ECU's or read directly what is communicated on the can bus.
