For those with the Nav wanting a Line In option
That will get you connected but, will it force the radio to see it?
From what I know, you would need a CD changer emulator so the radio thinks there is a cd changer attached to be able to access the aux input.

I am working to find a solution. We are launching a new product called Drive+Play by Harman Kardon that provides for control for an ipod in car and I would like to get to use the direct out.
Does the radio need to read a voltage to see the changer...(IPOD) is there? Something needs to tell radio there is a aux device there so turn on the audio.
The nav enabled head unit communicates to the CD changer using a Becker protocol that looks much like the sony unilink interface. It requires several messages to be sent back and forth before it will recognize the CD changer. Then to keep link active the head unit and cdx continue to "talk". I have yet to find any company selling a unit which works with the Becker/infinity unit found in the crossfire. But the short answer is it is not simply applying a voltage to a pin and pulling the line in/out off the mini iso jack.
I have successfully made a custom interface that works but have no plans to make it commercially available. I now need to find how to pry off the plastic trim to get cabling back to the storage box in the center console

It's ot that I don't want anyone to "have" it. In fact I got my info from www.mictronics.de where he has sample code and schematics for a becker unilink CDX simulator. But the hassle of getting cables, building PCB's testing and writing embedded software isn't trivial and I did not want folks to think I was in the market to sell a solution. Just passing on the first hand knowledge that ipod to crossfire nav radio head is more than a connector and a pin strapped hi or lo.
Sorry it came off sounding like I didn't want anyone to "have" it.

Just messing with you. I think the rest of the guys are right...cheaper to get a aftermarket unit. Only problem is I don't want to give up my navigation unit for a mp3 compatible unit.
Just FYI. Looks like its available in the states also:

I have read with Blaupunkt units the aux in will be id'd when no cd is in and you press the (maybe hold) the cd button. Not sure, but may be worth a try.

I bought one and it doesn't work. As stated by others, there needs to be communication between the device and the radio that only a changer can provide.
