Re: Good stereo for my 04 Crossfire with infinity system
I had my new Alpine stereo installed and now wired directly to the existing stock amp to provide the full 4 channel sound our cars are capable of.
The stock stereo and the harness only use 2 channels and even if you install a replacement stereo if you simply use the existing harness you are still only using 2 channels of a 4 channel amp.
Using all 4 channels of the amp provides a much higher quality sound from all the speakers and allows the sub woofers behind the seats to provide much more output.
I have a Roadster and I can here the music fine on the highway with the top down now !!
I highly recommend this particular stereo too
Re: Good stereo for my 04 Crossfire with infinity system
Quite a few options you can consider when replacing the OEM Xfinity unit. Valk has shared with you what he installed. Alpine is a good product line; and you would be making a wise choice if you purchased an Alpine. For me, I'm not a fan of the black versions mounted in our interior trim. Just my $0.02.
If you want something more visually compatible with the XFire's interior, you'll probably want to consider a marine stereo unit. These are typically silver and blend in a little better with the console in the Crossfire. And the silver color varies across various product lines. (Note: You can see the difference with the unit I installed below.) Kenwood may have the best color match to the XFire console trim. You will find several examples scattered throughout the Forum as Owners have shared what they installed. Me personally, I installed a Pyle Marine unit. I'm very pleased with the sound & features of the unit. And it didn't cost very much. You can purchase quite a bit of capability for well under a $100.
