Fused cable from battery...what's it for?

This comes from the battery....to the electrical stuff in front if the passengers feet....what is it?

The previous owner states she or her late husband never installed anything... and the original owner (Im #3) bought the car new when she was 75yo. ... what is behind this metal panel??

That wire and fuse holder are definitely aftermarket. It seems to be running to the cover in the passenger footwell for the audio amp, TCU, and other items.

Ill take posession of the car on Saturday... will be investigating the added wire...
