Default Dashcams in your Crossfire?

Recently bought my Crossfire and am very keen to install a Dashcam as soon as possible for some surveillance (importantly with parking mode - for motion / knock detection).
Therefore both Front and Rear cameras would be ideal !

Any recommendations on the best methods to fitting these into the Crossfire - also routing of power + video leads (for the rear camera too)?
Would be great to see some installs, if you've already accomplished this? Thanks!

So, I routed my Dashcam wiring down to the “interior fuse box” on one end of the dash (with door open).

HOWEVER, while there are live fuses ONLY when you turn on the parking light, with key removed, none of these are 12V permanent live!!

So the larger fuse box in the engine bay, does this have any routes into the cabin behind it?

I understand there’s a cable route in, behind the battery, but that’s the opposite side of the engine bay - plus I want to use some add-a-fuse / circuit from the fuse box (other side)!

Any clarification would be appreciated.

The downloadable Service Manual is your friend for the wiring harness diagrams. It involves some reading on your part (also to mention there are some but not many errors in the manual), you'll have a basis for finding the "Always ON" wiring in the dash which is easily testable with a voltmeter with the almost 100% accurate color coding (again cross-referenced) in the Service Manual. Good luck!

Many thanks for your prompt response. I'll locate the manual and get it downloaded as necessary. Apologies for duplicating forum posts (where the question might have already been asked 100 times before).

I tethered this with 2 separate dash cams and longer usb cables to hide in the trim.
Power Magic Pro BlackVue Vehicle...
Amazon Amazon

i use Yi 2.7 dash cams from Amazon but it looks like they’re no longer being sold.

i hVe the same set up in my 17 outback that came in real handy when I was sideswiped. Gave video to the cop and to her ins. Company and got not only the tow, the rental, and repairs, but also settled out of court for Diminished Value. $200 camera set up total paid for itself and highly recommend every car have one (or 2).

ill DM photos of my set up this weekend.

There is a wire under the dash that is constantly hot, it is the red wire in the radio plug.
The orange wire on that same plug is turned on at the first click position. Check that statement. There is a stud in the under hood fuse box that is always hot also one that only on when the ignition key is turned.
The reversing light wires in the trunk are a source of power for back up cameras.

Thank you both. Appreciate the feedback.
I'll explore both options and see what works out, for my Install. Lots of great information.
