Default JBL Party Box in rear ??

I have a nice Kenwood head unit in my XF along with all the stock speakers. The fronts sound great, but the I'd like more thump and would also like some sound coming from the rear for an overall better sound.
So, I'm thinking of bypassing the crappy stock subs and wiring up a plug that would plug directly into a JBL Party Box in the rear of my XF. (No Bluetooth lag due to direct wiring)
Sure, it would take up some room back there. But it would also have the benefit of being removable for picnics, parties, etc... and best of all... massive bass!
There's YouTube videos of people doing this in their cars, and it's a huge improvement. More bass, plus tweeters and larger sound to fill the cabin.
Yes, I know it would need to be secured properly... and that's fairly easy.
For only $260 US, this could be a lot of fun.
Has anyone here tried this yet??

You might want to remember that when you do 'disconnect' the sub during times you want to utilize the whole hatch area, you'll need some kind of load connected while you operate the stereo (whatever the brand is). Open speaker lines tend to ruin electronics unless a speaker protection feature is in the design of the amp or head unit.
