Default Aftermarket Rear Speakers

I've nearly collected all the pieces to my upcoming stereo for the crossfire, and the one major decisions area remaining outside of the subwoofer is what to put in for the rear speakers. I've decided to go with a 4.1 system, so I would like to match my front 6.5 component set with the same in the rear. I'm just wondering if this will be an issue. Crutchfield lists very few speakers fitting in the rear.

What size and brand/model speakers have you mounted behind the seats in the crossfire? If I do go with the 6.5" separates in the rear I'd play with the tweeter to get an imaged best before mounting it.

Thanks.

the rear speakers are the subwoofers. are you putting a sub in the trunk? that location would be useless for rear fill because the sound would just get absorbed by the seats.

do you even _need_ rear fill?

I will be putting a subwoofer in the trunk. The speakers behind the seats will be used to take advantage of the dolby pro-logic II capabilities of the deck, and for the rare occasions I watch a movie in the car--when parked.

While the location for them behind the seats isn't ideal, I wouldn't say they will be useless. If I don't care for how it sounds with full range speakers in the rear (I won't know until I try it as I haven't seen any feedback), I might then throw in some 6" subwoofers for added mid-bass.

If anyone else wants to deter me from putting full range speakers in the rear, I wouldn't mind hearing it.

i see; i didn't realize you would be watching movies in the car. maybe stuff a set of 4" components in a better location somewhere? would be easier to relocate them than a 6.5" set, and i don't think the surround would need to be as powerful as the front stage.

good luck.
