Intermittent Buzz & Speaker Sound; Bad Radio Reception
Greetings fellow Crossfire gents! Does anyone know how to help with these issues?
1). I replaced the door speakers & tweeters, along with the wires that came with them, but the passenger door speaker still cuts in/out; it usually doesn't work when I turn the stereo on, until I turn the volume way up, then it kicks on, but can still cut out again randomly.
2). There's also a loud buzz that goes away for a bit after moving the touch-screen stereo display (it is an aftermarket BOSS stereo system that was installed by the previous owner), moving the usb wires that hang out, or banging on the dash or console. I usually just choose to crank the music so loud I can't hear it anymore lol. Being on the phone or having it plugged into the usb or connected through bluetooth makes no difference. The only thing that stops the buzz completely is turning off the stereo system.
3). Also the radio signal is pretty bad. I read that it is installed inside the lfitgate glass, but I don't want to attempt taking it apart, since I cannot find a how-to video or instructions & am unsure where fasteners are. I read that you can just clean the antenna good & that will fix the issue, no?
Thank you all, and God bless!

First, if you are talking about a BOSS MR632UAB or 616UAB or any similar item, you are having all these issues because the 'radio' is cheap junk. WARNING: ANYONE who would buy a $40 BOSS head, I assume, probably ran regular gas and used paper oil filters and 10W30 motor oil as well, that is, if they ever changed the oil. (That means change the oil and filter today and use 5W40 synthetic* and a fleece filter).
DO THIS: Pull the worthless, POS, BOSS out of the dash, unplug all wires, place it on the floor, drive over it, then put the debris in the trash. DO NOT worry about damaging your car tire, that "radio" is so cheap and poorly built, it will be no match for the tires on the car. BOSS is the absolute worst head unit you can buy.
Second, when you buy your new JVC/KENWOOD/Pioneer/Clarion** head, make sure the installer uses the speaker outputs to drive the factory amplifier, not the 2/4v RCA outputs. You MIGHT get away with using the RCAs, but the RCAs are high-z outputs and will be more susceptible to noise pickup. The factory amps are designed to be driven by low Z speaker feeds, this suppresses noise influence at the input to the amp.
Third, There is nothing wrong with the car's antenna, you have the world's cheapest (no, LITERALLY, you have the cheapest) AM/FM head there is. Do not waste any more time on that $29.99 disgrace. If the owner paid more than that, they did NO market research OR they trusted an "automotive sound expert" who was not qualified or honest. (Many are qualified and honest, but not all, about 1 out of ten I think.)
I have a stomach virus and am not feeling well, if you read this far and are not insulted, it's due to my illness and I will try harder next time.
* Use oils only with a 229.3 or MB 229.5 endorsement if you want the EXACT product MB specifies, but to be honest, I don't think the MB endorsement matters all that much, altho I sure adhere to it.
** I only endorse JVC/KENWOOD products. If you want a radio that matches the satin trim of the Crossfire, buy only a MARINE unit!
