XM versus Sirius: Which is better and why?
Sirius has Howard, but XM has NASCAR Radio -- decisions decisions...
My JVC is Sirius-compatible, so if and when i dive in, it'll be Sirius --

I gotta go with XM. Aside from the music and news channels which both have. XM has programs like Artist Confidential, XMPR, Tom Petty's Buried Treasures, Then Again Live, and a whole bunch of other original programming that's very cool.
Sirius has the All Elvis channel, which is pretty cool but that's about it IMHO. I could care less about howard stern.

Which is best...well I can't answer. Which one I have is Sirius. My wife gave me the portable unit last year and I then put Sirius with the Pioneer GPS unit in my company car. I don't listen to Howard Stern but do listen to lots of CW and talk radio. I figure XM has the same features.

I am getting a new system installed today. Which will include Sirius. I'll update and post pics when ready. If Howard Stern never sent to Sirius, then I guess XM would have much larger piece of satellite radio pie.
I got a new Murano after Xmas and it was pre-wired for either kind. We already have XM in a pick-up and Sirius in the 300C and they both have way too many channels to be able to listen to, so I guess it's just a matter of finding out if they include the ones you want. I think it's a wash with types of channels, actually. I HAVE found that the Sirius has less drop-outs than the XM, at least here in good old Michigan. I opted to get Sirius installed. Cost $400 and it didn't change anything on the dash with the existing Bose stereo.
Lots of luck!

Just installed a new headunit Pioneer Premier DEH-770MP, Ipod adapter and Sirius tuner. Pioneer unit can handle all three. With this much options, it will take a week to figure out how to use the headunit, another week to figure out all Sirius channels, and one more to figure out how to listen to my ipod. I have posted some pics on: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ead.php?t=9467
I have 5 XM Radios...
1 in the XFR
1 in the Sierra Denali
1 in the MAZDA 3
1 in the Garage
and a portable I share in the YAMAHA Jet Boat and at work.
I took a station listing for each (XM & Sirius) and looked for the music, etc...
that I liked...
FOR ME...XM Won.
It's like which is better...
Ford or Chevy???
XBOX or Playstation???
Each has something different to offer...and we each have our own tastes!!!
BOTH ARE GREAT!!!

We have both, in different vehicles, but XM portables. They are both good, both are public companies, both lose money. I don't know if Stern is enough of a draw to both pay him and get the company in the black, I hope so.
