"Other" radio connections
Recently, I removed my radio (long story lol). Anyway, in the back of the radio, there are other pin connections for, I assume, other applications Anyone know what they are for? I assume add-ons of some sort, but what?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Cissy; I don't honestly know - yet - I can tell you that according to multiple other threads on this forum that the common opinion is that the infinity-badged becker radio that we have is not changer compatible. There are other becker radios built on this format that are . The little investigating I have done shows what I believe to be an optic port that actually lights up when the unit first comes on??? Maybe some sort of leftovers from when they use this chassis in another application.

My radio is the '04 with the dark screen...hard to see in the daylight. I switched it with a 2005 model.
This gave me an opportunity to see what the rear-end looks like.
I heard my Email click so figured you were still on, I've been intrigued by another forum that I found recently - I've been spending every waking hour investigating this 'rfid' thing. So wasn't the 'dark backlight' part of a recall , or am I mistaken?

Cissy, as Andrew stated, "RFID" stands for "radio frequency identification". It is the technology used in smart cards, pay pass, pet id chips, etc. The technology has been around for many years - but recently some people have been experimenting with using implanted chips in humans. Earlier this month I met a gentleman named Amal Graafstra, This guy has two chips already and has been making the radio and talk show rounds. He has used his I.D. to act as passwords for his computer and unlock his apartment and his car! I've been waiting for this connection of technologies. My area of expertise is aftermarket automotive electronics and specifically low and high current switching and relay systems as they relate to convenience and security applications. This is a really cool emerging technology.
