Do Aussie Crossfires come with jacks?
Hi,
I bought some locking wheel nuts the other day, and went to the boot to get the wheel brace out to change the nuts over, no wheel brace or jack in the boot.
Rang the dealership, and they tell me that because the car has the compressor and the can of sealer in the boot, it is not supplied with a jack, as you don't need to take the wheel off, which I think is pretty poor.
My previous car, which was a Peugeot, had no spare, and had the can of sealer, but it came with a jack.
I don't know if I'm being given the run a round by the dealership or not, so I was wondering if any other Aussie Crossfire owners could tell me if their car came with a wheel brace and jack?
I haven't rung the dealership back yet (they left a message), which I will do tomorrow, but I was wanting some ammunition, and will be asking them how I get the tyre off if the can of sealer doesn't work.

That surely isn't so. All US cars have jacks. I think you need to have a visit with your dealership. I'm sure it should be there. My car had a large heavy paper "sign" that stated some facts about the car including what items it was shipped with such as the jack, compressor, front license plate bracket (missing), manual, etc. Did you run across such a thing in the boot when you bought the car?
(Mine was and is still missing the mystery tool

Now I know that it actually does exist, and the dealership is still looking for a part no. one year later...LOL. I haven't told them I found it.
Danimal:
Thanks. Yeah... I knew that the multi-function tool often are in that pouch. However, mine is nowhere to be found. Shrug... I am surprised that one of these things hasn't appeared on eBay. I haven't tried to get a replacement. It just didn't seem that important or something else could be used in its place.

When I purchased my Roadster Limited I could not find the "Multi Tool" either. The dealer gave me one out of another Roadster that was on the lot. A few months later I found 2 more "Multi Tools" under the air compressor.
I looked at a guy from works Crossfire, and he has the jack, etc, I don't have the multi purpose tool.
What does the tool do, apart from releasing the Automatic gear Lever out of Park, and releasing the cover from over the front tow hook? I'm looking for more Ammo for when I ring the dealer tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

AussieXfire,
I have the coupe. It has a jack fitted in a cut out in the boot/trunk. A multi purpose tool was taped to the back of the euro style license plate bracket that was left in the boot/trunk. I then found a second multi purpose tool in the boot/trunk in a cut out where the first aid kit resides.
Regards.

Hi all, I talked to the salesman, and he initially said, the Aussie Crossfires didn't come with Jacks (cause DM Aust deem having the compressor and goo means you don't need one).
I retorted that a guy at work who has a Crossfire Coupe has a jack etc, so why doesn't mine?
He said, "Oh maybe the Roadster didn't come with a jack, and he would have to confer with the Regional Manager to see if that is the case".
He a yet hasn't got back to me, on the matter, but I told him that I thought it a bit strange that DM Aust would on their premium product, which retails here for $75,000 plus on road costs, (US $55,500), that they would cheap out on a jack that maybe costs at the most $50. They supply premium sound, leather electric seats, etc etc, but oh no it doesn't come with a jack.
He knew about the multi purpose tool, cause they sell MB as well, which apparently have the same thing.
My guess is that this car has been sitting around the dealership a while, and a Merc has been missing a jack and tool, and they have grabbed them out of the Crossfire, and are too cheap to replace them.
I would probably buy the one on E-bay, but they don't ship OS, plus the postage could be a bit high.
I might as well wait to see if the dealership gets this stuff, cause I will annoy the hell out of them till I do.
Thanks for all the replies, and I will keep you posted.

Hi AussieXfire
Where abouts did you purchase your Roadster. We have a white roadster and a graphite coupe and have not had any problems. We absolutely love them as I'm sure you will too.
We join in on cruises with PT Cruisers Downunder and if you're in or close to Sydney, you're more than welcome to come along too (there's one this Sunday). The club is getting a few modern mopars coming along for runs. We also go on American Mystery cruises once a month (starting back next month) on a Saturday night.

Hi, we are in Victoria, so one day we could get up there maybe, organize a trip when an event is on.
I got a call from the salesman yesterday, they have ordered a new jack and multipurpose tool for me. As they had based their original assumption that Crossfires don't have jacks on looking in the boot of another one (which didn't have one either).
Hopefully they come through with the goods!!
Thanks for the replies.

AussieXFire,
Good to hear they have ordered the jack and multi purpose tool.
Make sure you have the first aid kit as well. There is a cut out for it.
If all else fails let me know and I can help you with the multi purpose tool.
Like fun320 (David), I am a member of PT Cruisers Downunder. There are quite a few Crossfires here on the Coast but very rarely seen on road. The PTer's are a friendly and active cruising group group. There is a chapter in Victoria.
Kind Regards.
