Hey guys just seeing who's out and about in our awesome cars in this neck of the woods. Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunny Coast, Tweed or Toowoomba.

Shout out and we'll get together and organise a cruize!

Hello Style! We'd love to take our crossies on a cruize. We're in Brizzie and often take them out together. Really causes a stir with other drivers he he he. Tried to find other crossfires for this sort of thing two years ago but there aren't many of us around. What about a day in June or July 2010?

Sounds awesome! There's so many great places around here to go for a cruise. June is looking good...what days generally work best for you mate? Saturdays or Sundays, I'm pretty easy. So you own two crossfires eh!? Nice

Both Saturdays or Sundays work. Just need to plan it a little way ahead as my other half is a rugby referee and the season is in full swing. Yes, there are lots of good drives around SE QLD. We recently took the roadster out to Kumbia, which is just SW of Kingaroy (about 300km). The road is a little rough coming into Kilcoy, but after that it's pretty good. Perhaps a short drive in Brisbane to start - there's a few places around abouts with nice cafes and safe car parking. We're on the north side but relish driving on the Gateway or through the tunnel.

I bought my 2004 coupe in 2005; it was a trade back from a dentist in Rockie who was waiting for his SRT6 to arrive. Best car I ever bought. I then bought the roadster in 2007 as a birthday pressie for my other half. It was a bargain, as it had been on the floor of the dealership for 6 months, and the dealership wasn't stocking them anymore. They just wanted it gone. Having two crossfires means the only debates now are who gets to drive the roadster and who gets to drive the coupe!

Good stuff, it'll be cool, and unique lol, to see three silver xfires (and anyone else interested in comming along!) driving along together. Short drive first is great either or. There's a couple nice, resonably empty roads round Hinz Dam that a good for a bit of 'light' pedal to the metal type stuff but a leasurely crusie is just as good. Could Meet up at Park Road in Milton for a coffee all together first then go from there!

My car's a coupe. Bought it from a guy at Yatala who own Pacific Helmets. I'm the second owner. Apparetnly the story goes that his wife told him he needed to sell the toy car cos he just had bought himself a new Merc. I didn't complain at all. Got the beast for well under market value over two years ago now. I think you can't do better value for money with these cars eh! I do all my own work on it and I seriously havn't worked on an easier vehicle. I really don't understand why the never sold all that well...damn it's the cheapest Mercedes you could ever own!!!

But yeah we'll work on a weekend in June then

Hi Style,

Good to hear you do all your own maintenance. I've had a nasty experience today as I've got to replace the alternator in the coupe. $895 plus labour!!! I have to get the dealership to do it as they've ripped the old one out and the auto electrician has pulled it apart to see if it could be repaired. A big NO according to the auto electrician. I've told them I want the old one back, so I can take a look at it myself.

I've decided that this is the last time I let a dealership touch my baby. They only have one Crossfire mechanic, and he's leaving them next week. That means there will be no Daimer Chrysler trained Crossfire mechanic in SE QLD, that I'm aware of. I'm going to put my faith in the technical notes and manuals on this forum, as well as the good will of other forum members, and do the maintenance and repairs myself (my original trade is radio fitter & mechanic so I'm prepared to get my hands dirty again).

Sounds like you've got a good X-Fire group forming up there - one day maybe we can get the Sydney group and SE Qld group together for a meet. It would be great to see a group of Crossfires together. Our own "Tail of the Dragon" weekend - or I guess more like Crossfires across Australia!

Haha now that sounds like a plan Bodog! Be great to take the Xfire on a run down to Sydney!

Brizbaby, damn that alternator sounds nasty. Haha over the weekend I had the ignition barrel go on me. Key simply wouldn't turn...plus car was parked at the lazer skirmish centre on the ipswich motorway near the gabba...was fun getting it onto the tow truck back to mine to do the 'sticky ignition key fix!' But at least I know it's done now and I'll never have to do it again

Anyhow gettin back to this cruise, lets start throwing dates around if you're still keen! I'm thinking the 27th June or perhaps the 3rd July. I'm easy as to wherever we go...

We're still keen for a cruise so lets lock in 3 July. If you're near the Gabba we can meet up in the new area near the Thai Rose restaurant (I think that's the name of the place on the corner). In the meantime, what do you think of doing a run down the M1? We could head to Mt Tamborine for lunch at the St Bernards Hotel. The pub is a bit run down but it has good parking out the front (ie safe) and the view is pretty. Or would you like to suggest a route?

I hope you don't mind, but I've invited another Crossfire to cruise with us. My friend has a yellow roadster and I suspect he would really enjoy joining in the fun. That would also make a dizzying number of 4 Crossfires together in Brisbane!
