Default CICCI Thoughts...

Hey guys,

The following is MY opinion and you are welcome to post your agreement or disagreement.

Today I signed up for membership in the CICCI after some thought. I really don't need to be part of an international club but many of the guys I have made great friends with have joined up.

I think CrossfireForum.org serves most owners for what they need. Any kind of information you need can be found there, I know I have. The 'scare tactics' I see about this website disappearing one day could come about, but time will tell.

I guess I am not an offical member until I get a PayPal invoice and pay it?

I have met many of you guys/gals at Woodward and the Dragon last year. It was great fun! My wife and I participated in both events before CICCI was created. Therefore I see these two events, as CROSSFIREFORUM.ORG events. There may be others as well. Being a member of CICCI, I should have no advantage or special treatment during these events. Special drives, hotel reservations, hotel special rates, etc, should not come into play during such events.

Now with that said, if CICCI wants to create and plan new events, then they can be CICCI "only".

I look forward to your replies. James

PS - Can't wait to meet up with everyone again at the Dragon, CICCI members and non.

James, thanks for joining. We'd love to have you. You are right in many ways. Consider that CICCI was born from members of this forum (which I love BTW). I can tell you one thing for sure as President and a member of the board at CICCI, any events planned by CICCI are not only for CICCI members. All Crossfire owners/drivers are invited to come to the events, even if you're not a member of this forum.

The one thing that brings us together is the love and enthusiasm of our cars.

There are many other reasons we formed CICCI, but creating a division was definitely not one of them.

My 2 Cents:

I see CICCI as a club that has a forum to talk about club business. As far as general forum browsing, I think it is kind of difficult to keep up with both.

Since it is still the best place to meet new owners and keep the Crossfire community as a whole informed, I hang out here.

I pretty much feel the the same way, I just don't have the time to keep up with both. I just go there to check the club info.

LOL......I was just on the CICCI site yesterday for the first time in a month.

I'm reasonably sure that this is still the place where you will see a majority of the members "hang out".

Ideally, I think the crossfireforum.org and CICCI can only help each other, and members from both places should be welcome to all Crossfire events, no matter where they started.

I hate the name and don't want to be in any kind of crossfire club, especially if I have to pay for it. I guess I see my car different then the cicci members, its not a collector or show car to me. It's a fun daily driver that I got a good deal on.

I too got a good deal on mine and it is not a show car, a race car or a collectors item ... like you, mine is my daily driver and I have NO idea how you you could possibly have more fun in yours than I have in mine ... but, I didn't realize that made me different than other CICCI members ... oh, sure - there are guys who live in snowy parts of the country who leave theirs in the garage when it's snowy out, but they're all counting the days until spring arrives and thaws away the snow and ice so they can get their cars out of the garage and onto the road ...

it's hard to take an organization seriously when items are sent out with obvious mistakes. it shows a lack of attention to detail.

just my opinion...

First I want to thank everyone here who have joined CICCI.

I am enjoying both this forum and the new club equally.
I spend a great deal of time to keep up with them both especially as CICCI grows.
I enjoy the different type of feel that both these sites provide.
I to have formed many relationships in my time here and met many people at the various meets and for that I am forever grateful.
You all have made my life a little more exciting and being a CICCI member or not the ownership and love of our Crossfires will always keep us connected.
I am happy to be a member of both and never thought twice about being a CICCI member.

I just don’t think I have any reason to join. Just looking for a place to find info and give info when I have some. I think the forum works for that now. I am to far away to participate in any of your events. Oh yes, and I’m probably just to cheap to pay up without being able to test drive the CICCI web site to see any advantages?

That is an excellent point right there! Maybe they can make it possiable to "test drive" the site for people who are interested.

Ok, I'm showing my a$$ a bit here, but what is wrong with the pictured calling card? Besides it having "Your" instead of "You're" in the initial greeting? Perfectly acceptable here!
