Hi ALL...wanted to say thanks
Thank you,
I have been around from time to time on this board reading lots and getting lots of help from all of you X FIRE owners. I have been getting very caught up in all the fun and don't even have the car yet.
My soon to be wife and I bought an ‘04 red auto should be ready in two day's for pickup.
It's funny when we looked for a crossfire to buy we could only find three and they had been on the lots for about a year, just when were ready to buy they all sold within a few short days of each other so I had one shipped from a dealer in Sask. the dealer said it was the 2nd crossfire to come to Canada (will follow this info more if true) my vin 14603 pretty sure?
Calgary's winters seem to be getting better just a few weeks of nasty whether I thought that this car would be fine for nicer winter day's but I am a little worried about staying on the road in winter, not sure what tires we got on it now? Do you think all season's might work or need better? I drive a ‘94 GMC on all seasons in winter and can be fun at times.
Thank you again for all your input.

As for driving one in the winter, some people do, but I believe more don't.
One person you may want to PM is a fellow who goes by name of Bullseye. He lives in Chicago, and I believe that he installed 17" Mercedes SLK wheels with full snow tires, or at least 4 seasons style.
I'm sure he would fill you in on all the winter "excitement" that you and your new wife will be in for with the XF.
Good Luck, and enjoy your car!

As far as tire changes due to snow, I really don't have any problems down here in NY. This past winter i ran the car everyday, through some heavy and medium snowfalls. We did not get stuck at all.
If you go to the search engine... you will find prior posts about tire selection (for the winter etc...) and pics of a few crossfires dueling the snow...
I am still running on my stock 18/19 Contis...
Best of luck...

I took a look at my tires, an its the stock pilots. Nice tires but I really don't think this is what I should keep on the car when driving in mild winter days. I have read on this board that the Blizzak snow tire will wear out quicker on dryer roads but if they are a better tire for me. I'll try here in Calgary to find such tire or something as good.
The pilots are just over $500 canadian would snows or a very good all season cost as much?? I'll start saving my money now for tires. I had no idea these babies are so costly, I could buy a winter beater for the cost of new tire's. lol
Can just any tire shop change these big tires on are car or is it a different type of wheel machine for this kind of rim. Nice to know if I ever have tire problems.
Thanks

Welcome and Congrats!!!
The stock Michelin Pilots are not for the snow, get some Blizzaks or ASP tires...also throw some weight in the trunk...a 25 - 40 lb bag of rock salt or sand will do.
