Anyone up for a GTG in Toronto?
Hope to join you on July 4th. I live ten minutes away from the meet.
I am new to Crossfire and have had my '05 Silver Sapphire Blue Coupe for only 1 month. The Crossfire already has a new set of rims/tires/TPMS sensors. Windows have been tinted and rust proofing applied. Ordered on-line and already installed are the OEM cargo mat, OEM rubber floor mats, aftermarket front and rear Crossfire badges including MB three star hubcap centres. The rear cargo security cover has been ordered from London, England and should arrive before the meet. GPS Transponder (for security) has been installed giving full-time tracking of car on the internet.
Just curious, has anybody found a way to disable the DRL's?

Save that question for TurboSportique............they may be able to help.
Why would you want to disable the Daytime Running Lights?

I understand that Canadian Tire uses some part that I read on this forum cost $30, this seems too cheap for a headlight switch, but the price maybe wrong. If it is the switch that is changed then a quick study of its workings may give you a hint at what can interrupted by a switch. If it is another item that is added then find out what and were it goes and see if it can be switched it on and off. Search this forum and look for someone who imported a Xfire and PM them for what exactly was changed or added. There was a few threads where importing and DTRL's was discussed. I will search and see if I can find the thread(s) I am talking about.
Edit, I found this,

Good news and bad news. So far the weather for July 4th is supose to be nice
, I just got word that I might have to work on the Friday and Saturday (normal scheduled week is mon-thurs 9 hours) So I might not be able to attend
. If it rains that morning I might be able to get there by 10am. We don't work in the rain

We'd like to see you there but we are not going to hope for rain; do what you have to do and we will be checking for a further update.

We'll meet in Pickering at Turbo Sportique, rain or shine (hopefully sunny & warm);
then sometime around 12:30, we will go to lunch with Jim the owner (local marina) and then return to his shop for more discussions, etc.
I am fully expecting that he will have a 'custom' Crossfire with unique front spoiler and rear 'diffuser'; btw, this shop caters to the aftermarket crowd but specializes in Mercedes products. There may be a lot to learn regarding 'tuning' our SLK320 motors.
For those of you not sure where Pickering is.............it is the first town/city east of Metro Toronto, on Highway 401. Once you get into the east end of Scarborough, stay in the 'collector lanes' and take the Brock Road S. exit in Pickering. Turn right (south) on Brock Road, go down through the Bayly Street traffic lights and Dillingham Road is the first street on your right side south of Bayly St. Turn right onto Dillingham to #905.
The telephone number for Turbo Sportique is (905) 837-0767 and my Cell number is
(905) 706-4536, if you need to call me that morning.
Also visit Turbo Sportique - Home Page for more information.
I hope to see a lot of you there.

I'll be attending tomorrow. Look for the Crossfire without the DRL's.

Presumably, you found a way or someone to do it..............now what are we going to talk about tomorrow?

Hi Tony...................I was wondering where you were; hope to see you in Pickering, if not, I assume you will be going to Woodward Avenue???
We had a great GTG at Turbo Sportique in Pickering and saw the interesting work carried out there. I especially liked the rear diffuser which was subtlety different from the run of the mill diffusers you normally see, the cover over the tow hook was a nice touch and was extremely well made. Thanks again to mbepic for a well organized event

Thanks to everyone for coming out today; nice to meet you all and sorry if I couldn't remember all your names but that comes with age, I guess.
Thanks for the couple of pics that have already been posted. I meant to to get a couple in the restaurant but once you start talking, it's hard to quit.
It would have been nice to see everyone back at the shop afterwards to discuss a future GTG but that's ok..................we can do it here.
I believe it was Nick and Beth (GRYFAN) who suggested a Brewery/Restaurant in the west end for an end of July GTG.................I'm for that and hope we can make it; Nick, if you want to put something together and then let us know what the plans are..........suggest you start a new 'thread' for that GTG.
I would like also to see someone get in touch with Legendary Motor Cars in Halton Hills and organize a 'formal' tour of their facility some time in late August or September.
Their website is Legendary Motorcar - Home of Dream Car Garage I would suggest that if we go there, we may want to leave our wallets at home or a big purchase could be in the future for someone.
Thanks, again and hope to see everyone real soon.
Don't forget Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise in mid August (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan)....................https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...etroit-mi.html
