I didn't know my Crossfire did this...
Yesterday I drove my Crossfire in heavy rain for the first time. Good news; When the wiper speed is set to "normal", the wipers stop when the car stops and start up again when the car moves (think red light). Nice!
Bad news; when entering or exiting the cabin, significant amounts of water roll off the roof into the cabin area as our roof lines do not have rain rails as typically found on other cars. Bad!

NAAH! You are kidding, right?
I think you have those special 'vacuum operated' wipers; they were common on the
cars of the 40's/50's, whenever, you slowed down or stopped the wipers would
slow right down, with lower vacuum pressure.
Do you really think that a wiper system that DOES NOT have 'variable speed' would have an intelligent system that can spot a 'red light' and stop until it turns green. You must think this is April 1st?

Just to confirm my brain is still working I did a search.....

New topic;
Our Crossfires do not have variable speed wipers but are speed sensitive. Having said that, I owned a '94 850 Volvo at one time and it too didn't have variable speed wipers. On a Volvo users forum it was reported that a wiper relay sold by Volkswagen would fit in the relay box and provide the desired vari-speed. It worked like this; turn the wipers on and then off. The next time you turned the wipers on, it remembered the time duration and would continue at that speed until changed. Neat feature.
Anyone ever heard or seen a thread on this site reporting something similar?
