Who from Ontario will be going on Friday, Thought I could tag along (new guy)
We thought we would leave Barrie Ont real early Friday Morning, as we would like to be there around the dinner hour, I think it is 15 hours?

I don't know, but 15 hrs is dedication....someone tag alone with this guy and keep him awake....

 

Do you plan to drive thru Cincinnati? If so, we are leaving to head south about 8am on Friday. Actually if you leave on Thursday, you could meet up and stay with the gang that night, then leave with the group on Friday morning. We all meet up on Thursday night for dinner within walking distance of the hotel.

Jame1549, I don't know I will try to figure it out, I was hoping to be in Fontana for Friday night dinner hour for a good nights sleep so as to enjoy Saturdays event, we have added the Monday off of work so we don't have to ruch out Sunday, I think it is about 12 hours to Cincinatti we usually go down the I-75 to Florida and I seem to think we are in Cinci by noon, we leave Southern Ontario (1 hour north of Toronto at around 2-3am on the Friday morning. I will see if that will work, it would be cool to have as many from Ontario meet you and all roll in together! Do you know if I would go down 75, I thought it would be quiker to go 77-79, definatly an nicer ride.

Stay Thursday night (Sept 30) at the Red Roof Inn - Florence, Kentucky.
O'Charleys is a good restaurant walking distance from the hotel for happy hour and /or dinner.

Friday morning we all leave at 8:00am for the 5 hour run to the Fontana Lodge with our first trip through the Dragon in route just before we arrive.

 

I'll have to think this one through, I'm not crazy about driving right through the night, I would have to leave Thur night 8pm and all will have to go perferfect just to arrive in Florance for leaving time. I dont think it will work.
It looks like the I-75 in the way to go though.

 

I know bluecoupe will be going and most likely leaving friday morning early! You will drive right by his place on the way. Send him a PM.

I am not too sure if I am going yet but if I do I will be leaving friday morning.

 

Just saw this thread................I usually cross the boarder at 3 a.m. and get to Fontana at Supper time. PM me if you'd like to convoy.

 

Angelo, I dont' know your schedule for Thursday. You could drive the trip on Thursday, be in Florence (Cincinnati) for dinner with us, spend the night, then be fresh and ready for the remaining drive Friday morning.

I would like to go to this GTG, but the trip is just too long to make in one jump for me. My wife would not be coming, she hates long car trips.
If I went I would leave Thursday, stop overnight and make the final miles on Friday morning. That way I could arrive in a coherent state. Stopping in Florence would be ideal for me.
I made Columbia, SC. in one jump a few years back and even got to play a round of golf when we got there, but I was a few years younger and had a co-driver (not a golf club) and that made it easier.

 

Have to work till 5, get home sleep till 2am then im good till Friday night, took Friday and Monday, maybe I should have thought it through better, theres always next time!

Oh know one realy answered this for me, I think it sound as if the I-75 is the best way, or is it just more convienient?
