Anyone interested?
Pardon me for my unfamiliarity of Sports Car activities. I come from the motorcycle world. Would anyone be interested in a run or show to benefit disabled Gulf War Veterans on in June or July. I have been on and helped organize hundreds of bike runs. No matter if you hate or love the Gulf War there are many wounded veterans that could use our help. This will be totally non = political. These veterans are there for us. We should be there for them. Let's show this nation that we care.
Rough proposal...a ride from New York City to either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. We charge maybe $10-20 per driver/passenger, throw in a tee shirt and enjoy the evening at one of the casinos? Why should motorcyclists have all the fun. I will need help organizing and this is a rough idea.

Great idea...wish I was closer to NY to participate. You may want to avoid early July as the All-Chrysler Nationals are in Carlisle, PA the weekend of 7/6 thru 7/8. Good luck with your plans.
Sounds good I'm from Long Island my wife and I have been talking about going to Foxwoods. But just like Danimal said, the weekend of 7/6 - 7/8 would be out for us. We will be at the All-Chrysler Nationals.
I am glad to get the responses I got. I am still trying to plan, and I've had planning experience with MC rides never with cars.
Questions I would like to get opinions on:
1. Rally style or group ride?
2. Limited to Crossfires or open to all 2 seat sports cars?
3. People with club affiliations that could help
4. Starting point & destination. I used Connecticut Casinos as the destination as they are always very accommodating. I've received 1 suggestion to change to Cape Cod...great place but anyone familiar with traffic at the only 2 bridges can understand why.
5. Sorry I forgot about the Chrysler Nat's in July (pounding my head). Would mid-Sept be a better time?
I do not organize by dictatorship and listen to all legitimate ideas. I have one and only one goal (besides a fun event) that is to raise some money and show support to help the Gulf War disabled veterans. Actually it would be fantastic if on 1 weekend in Sept there could be simultaneous sport car (or Crossfire) rallies in different areas of the US with a check going to the Disabled American Veterans or similar group to help these men and women.
Guess I'm dreaming now.
Thank you to everyone.
