oooooo, tell me tell me. can't wait to see the new fun specials in a couple weeks.
Due to a scheduling conflict at work, I will be unable to attend this year.
I am keeping my hotel reservations up until Thursday at noon at which point I will cancel them should nobody need a double queen bed room. If you haven't made reservations, please call me at 952-292-4477 so I can make arrangements with the hotel so you get the group rate. It doesn't matter either way to me as I can cancel it anytime before then but I figure this might help someone out.
Take care all and hope everyone has a safe and wonderful trip. I'm really gonna miss seeing everyone I met there last year and see all the new people.

Hi Everybody,
I have a couple of interesting predicaments...
Let me start out with stating that everybody here has been extremely helpful in my search for a xfire to call my own and quite recently i pulled the trigger and have purchased one. Sadly I haven't taken delivery of it yet as there are some minor paperwork issues that need to be sorted out. But I'm hoping to pick up my ride by this weekend to early next week.
This is where my problem starts:
I just found out that my boss gave me the entire weekend of the Carlisle show off from work and now I have to decide if I drive out for a day that weekend or do I drive out there Friday and try and find a place to shack up for the weekend.
1) Are there any more open slots for reserving a hotel room with the rest of the x-fire members? (I know I'm a late addition and they're probably already sold out but it never hurts to ask)
2) Are there any other hotels in the area that anybody can recommend? (Preferably ones without hourly rates
)
3) If I go down for one day, which day would be the best to show up?
4) How many people from Long Island are going down? (I'd prefer to go in a convoy because this will be my first long trip in this vehicle and if anything were to happen god forbid I'd have people around me with some first hand expereience with these cars.
5) Is it too late to reserve any spots for the dinners and get-togethers?
Overall I really look forward to trying to attend, but this all really depends on if my car is ready on time. In the end I'd like to go to a car show where there are at least a couple of x-fires in attendance. All the car shows on Long Island that I've been to haven't had any, Even the Mopars at E-Town (Englishtown NJ) didn't have any. Besides my main goal is to meet up and network with some cool and unique people who have a common automotive love for these cars.
Thanks again folks for all your help,
Ron

Ron welcome. As far as hotel rooms, the other day they only had 2 left but not at the discounted rate, you can call Rudy that posted earlier in regard to his room which he has booked but can no longer make the show. As far as other LI Crossfires attending, I'm the only one, I'm heading up early Thursday morning.
As far as meets here on the Island it seems the Crossfire owners are not that interested in any GTG, I've tried in the past, maybe with some new owners out here things may change. I attend a few shows on Long Island and CT. As well as Jersey and PA.
If you like to make the awards dinner Saturday night payment in head count has to be in by tomorrow but we should have at least 3 seats available for late comers at the same price of $30.00.

Thanks for the input acrispy1.
As of right now I'm still waiting on my own vehicles availability, otherwise I'd be on the phone right now with rcompart trying to take his hotel room of his hands. If all else fails I might show up Sunday in my Caliber just to check out whats going on, but it looks like most people usually end up leaving Sunday, so that idea is still up in the air. Overall it all depends on how soon my car is set and ready to fly.
On a side note I noticed that you (acrispy1) are on the Island, thus if you're ever doing any local shows and need some backup, send me a message. I'm looking to do a couple of captree runs and there's a sizable showing every friday at the Bellmore train station.
Hopefully I get my X-fire all squared away and I'll show up all weekend with it, but as of now my contingency plan is to drive to carlisle in the dark hours of Sunday morning in my caliber. Maybe I'll even try and make the breakfast, but it's all still up in the air. I'll keep you all posted about whether or not I'll be able to make it.
Thanks again,
Ron
