Sycamore IL - Car Show
I decided at the last minute to run over and see the show. I was really impressed. Lots of very nice cars. Some real quality there. Thanks for the heads up.
Just got back. Thanks for the heads up again. I'll expect another notice next year.
Gotta be close to a 1000 cars. Some real quality. Didn't expect to see a real Cobra. The Stude "El Camino" from the 50's is something I didn't know existed. Thought sure that Ford or Chevy introduced the genre in the 60s sometime but there sat that Studebaker. Never to old to learn something new.

Gets bigger every year. Started with less than 100 cars now 11 years later it is over 1000 cars.
Everyone from the area knows, but for those that do not:
The show is named after lifelong Sycamore resident and auto mechanic Glenn “Fizz” Ehrler. "Fizz" was a really great local character and was more than helpful to anyone and everyone. I had the pleasure of going to a weekend long car show with him and his son, and his shop built a couple of custom exhaust systems for my cars. In January of 2000 he lost his battle with cancer. The community and his freinds chose the remember him & his love of cars with the annual memorial car show and fun raiser.
Now it is 2 day event- car show, music, food, beer garder 50's costume & dance contest, cruise night, car parade.....
The proceeds from the event will be donated to several local businesses and organizations including the Sycamore Police Department, Sycamore Food Pantry, “Fizz” Ehrler Scholarship Fund and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, and for the Kishwaukee Cancer Care Center.
It really is a good time.
