Default Scrapers & Shakers Car Show WhoooHhooo!

Well guys, I participated in a car show today which was a nicely run event. The only thing I did not like is all classes were intermingled but the end result was the SRT pulled through again and I won 1st place. There were about 287 cars there in total I believe someone said. I do not know how many in my class (1981 - 2010) but I know there was not a ton as they had separated Mustangs, Corvettes and Camaros as they should. Out of eight shows, I placed 1st or second seven out of the eight. Not too shabby.

Thanks Danny, hope we have good weather for next Sat. We had some really bad storms last night/early this morning and I was not sure if I was going to make it or not. Glad I did!!

Congrats Steve! Your car always shows well, even when it's filthy. J/K on the filthy part!

Where was the show?

Thanks Inferno, it was in Corsicana. Kind of nice as it was in an older section of town which they closed down the street and we lined both sides. Nice show. The only issue was the wind as it was a kicking up pretty good plus I was under a tree so sap was falling.

It would kill me to have a car filthy

I heard Corsicana got hit by some really bad weather last night. Maybe even a tornado. At least it was a clear day today in spite of the wind.

Hope you can post some pics of the event. That section of town sounds like a great place for a car show.

They received 90 mph winds somewhere around there.

Funny, when I pulled up, the guy filled out my registration card putting me in the import class and I handed the card back asking why. He replyed... this is a Bently right? I started laughing along with the other guy that was signing in cars and said, no and the other told him what it was.

The show consisted of several judges scoring the paint, interier, engine compartment and overall visual impact quality.

By the way, the guy signing cars in was not a judge.

Steve,
You have a KICK *** car!
Wanted to talk to you, but you were out of pocket at the time.
What is not stock under the hood?
I think I need to get with some other buisneses and create a speciaty award for late model "factory" type cars, as it's hard to judge these cars with the older cars.
A friend of mine did a award for the "best chopped" and inspired me to do one for best enginnered. I have spoke with others in buisnesses nad they like this idea, "The buisness owner picks the car for the award they create"
This is outside of the car club.

What are y'all's thoughts o this?
Should we continue?

Again...NICE !! car.
Thanks,
Danny

Thanks Danny for the compliment. It is tough at the shows that are geared towards older muscle cars for the most part. I love them but just the same, I would like to see more appreciation shown to late models as well. There is a ton of time put into my car to get ready for a show and it is nice to see or hear people that can appreciate it for what it is etc.

As far as the awards you are talking about, that would be great and it would give more people an opportunity to be recognized.

I know how you feel. I still get ragged that my truck is "new" and shouldn't be judged with older trucks even thought it's 11 years old and has over 350,000 miles on it.

That engine is impressive. And I thought I kept the SRT engine clean Nice job. In fact, I think that your job just might be driving around every day, them coming home and cleaninfg the engine. LOL
