update from the show
Over 300the vehicles here and as usual I am the only Crossfire. I had to get away from the car because everyone is commenting and asking a lot of question. A couple people have asked if it's a 2011 or a 2012. They seem shocked when I tell them it's n '05. She's looking good between a '61 Impala and a custom '73 Vette. Hot and humid and I needed some shade and water.
Re: update from the show
I can understand your need for a break. The comments about the car and then the needed explanations just lead to more questions. I only deal with this on a one-on-one parking lot conversation basis - and that is enough. What I always find most interesting is that individuals cannot believe that the design of the car is dated to years passed. People seem to think that it is something new, but those who recognize the car generally have interesting comments about how they always wanted one, what a great looking car it is etc. I am now 'famous' in my exercise class just because of my car.......

Re: update from the show
A lotta spectator love but nothing from the judges. The level of money and quality people have in their cars now a days is unbelievable. They either spend $60,000+ on a build or restoration or they plop down $40,000 on something new and put $20,000 in mods into it. Doesnt seem like the Great Recession had much effect on the car hobby.
I got there around 11:30 and since I usually prep my cars the day before all they usually need at the show are a once over with the duster, a quick wipe of the front if there are any bugs there and some tire shine on the treads. It seemed today people were coming up and checking out the car before I was even done with it. After a couple of hours I needed some shade, water and there were other cars to look at and take pics of. I don't think I have ever talked to more great people who I felt genuinely appreciated the car.
