eBay Find - Salvage SSB SRT-6
Could be interesting...damage looks VERY minor for salvage, so I would want to check that out a little more.

Interesting. It's definitely a project car. But considering how quickly they total these cars, it could be a good deal for someone with resources to discounted parts.
Why do they salvage the cars with such limited damage? Are parts that hard to get for these cars already?
Honestly the metal work to fix the panels looks pretty simple, assuming fenders are expensive. I've never worked on one myself, but I've redone many cars and this doesn't look too bad at all. A spoiler, mirror 3-4 hours on the body work then some fresh paint.
Too bad it's across the country.

In college, my buddy took a corner too fast and drove his Fiat 124 spider into a ditch (I was riding shotgun) the damage to this SRT-6 looks EXACTLY the same, looks like the canvas top passed over some barbed wire on the way in just like we did. Boy college was fun.
If I didn't already have mine...I'd check it out for engine/trans issues and if it was all clear...buy it replace a couple needed parts and then drive the **** out of it and not worry about all the stupid stuff I worry about now (door dings, hail, etc...)
the guy is describing an SRT6, has 6 seats, has 6 wheels, but that isn't a 6....right front fender non repairable, front bumper is questionable, doors are thin skinned so, probably not repairable. Unknown about the hood as well, if those are deep scratches...given it is a salvage title, car isn't worth 4K....with at least 4K in parts...no labor, so if you can't fix it yourself...why have 10K in a salvage car worth 4K.....there are reason insurance companies total cars.... that is a salvage company right across the road in that photo...if they can sucker you into a good price without touching it, it's all profit, if they have to tear into it and part it out, they have labor costs involved and won't profit as much....not for me....not even for a race car....unless they will sell it for the price it is at right now, which won't happen since they have a reserve on it....good luck with it...
Hmmmm.you should def look into it. Personally i would keep my current crossfire and have this car to freaking beat up, Track it ,autocross it, until it dies... Think about it.... Driving a crossfire without concern for parts breaking. And when it does( which will be a long time). Who cares? It might not be "worth" much to other people but what matters is what its worth to you. Insurance might be high which sucks. This car is not for everyone but it def gets the job done.
PL/PD is all the insurance you will get, and if you live in an emmissions/inspection state, cross your fingers, now for the track, it would be fine...you are already looking like you hit the wall....lol

Totals come from the ratio of repair cost to sales value. Many States now have 75% as the Totaled/Salvage Title mark. Insurance co are fine eith that as it solves the decision making process and allows them to raise their rates.
Gravel lot "BUY HERE PAY HERE" guys love it too.
roadster with a stick
I can't believe how easy they total these cars. This car needs a little work but its far from totaled. I'm almost afraid to drive my car because it might get bumped and totaled out. I had a Limited Roadster that was rear ended and was totaled.
This is the type of car I am looking for. If anyone finds a coupe with similar damage or similar price I will be very interested! The closer to the canadian boarder the better!!!

It's already up to $6,200...too much for me...
