I found an '05 SRT with 42k miles in the midwest for $12.5. Two questions, does that seem suspiciously low to anyone and second what are the rules for posting links? I know on some forums it is frowned upon to post outside sale links.

that is 3-4k low for that car....either a good buy, or there is a problem....good luck...

Where is this low priced midwest SRT-6? some of the folks on here car run a "car fax" for what it's worth. I'm sure you have read other post about buying SRT-6's and things to look for - use your best foot fwd and ask Questions - you can always walk away before you sign....jmy2centsworth

 

The SRT-6 in SunCity is close to a lot of people who have SRT-6's, You can alway's request (If someone has time) to stop by and look at it! I would call the seller and ask if he has a current car fax or get the vin# and run it your self. Then ask if they have had it svc'd and if so where..

 

Here's the SRT in Milwaukee Is that the midwest? It has a feeling of being legit but the price......and I think it is still for sale!
I have read the SRT-6 "what to look for" page. I appreciate the heads up about running a VIN and asking if there are members that have time to check out a car, that's very helpful, thanks.
I will be away for a few days visiting my new grand daughter and will try to check in if I can. Yes, I know that I hardly sound old enough to have kids let alone grand kids but that is the way it is one never loses the interest in cars and the thrill of the 70 miles an hour messing ones hair. And I still have hair. I just hope that the combination of being Canadian and a bit older doesn't slow down the love. You guys have been great.

 

Have seen that one on C L for a very long time (off/on for about 4 month's) I thought you said blk. my Bad........There is a blk one in AZ. sun city Same miles and same asking price - again C.L. Phoenix AZ. has his phone # also. both colors are great if you keep them clean. Have fun with the New G.Baby (When do you pass out the Cigars?)lol

 

Thanks for the follow up, it just goes to show that price stability in the car market is still aways away when, at first glance, a reasonably priced high end sports car can sit for months and not sell, although there maybe another story.
I did mention black but it was a general comment I think on all of the black cars I've been seeing. I emailed the guy with the blk SRT in Sun City. I will do a search on the forum for the best way to look after a black car.
Very few cigars get handed out anymore, more often it is chocolate in the form of cigars.

I know that it isn't the SRT-6 or the manual shift I'm looking for but it sure looks like a sweet combination int./ext. and it does have two of my priorities a one owner and roadster.
Any tips on ebay purchasing? I have read a number of posts that some members have bought their cars off of ebay with very happy results. I will do a search on the forum for related posts

Another question, on some threads people mention that a VIN search is as simple as asking the community, is that the same here or is it off limits?

 

While both of the Roadsters look very nice, they are priced in the same range as a very nice, low mileage SRT Roadster. Unless they were to come off that price significantly, I would personally hold out to find an SRT Roadster in that range, or a more realistically priced NA Roadster.

This forum has always been open to asking for VIN checks, but it has been less than successful as of late due to the fact that CarFax has recently changed their pricing model. In the past, you could purchase unlimited checks for a 30 day period for a fixed price. Now, they only offer a single check for 34.99, or 5 checks for 44.99. With this new pricing model, there are fewer people that would have a disposable check to pass your way. But, it does not hurt to ask. Just understand that it is not because no one is wanting to help you out if you do not receive a response to your request.
