Default WTB Dirt Cheap Crossfire - We're talking change in your pocket cheap! LOL

I'm already dying not having a Crossfire to call my own so I figure I'll start this thread so my fellow forum members can be my eyes and ears in places I cannot be... Mostly those of you that are in climates much warmer than my own. BRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (Yup, it's THAT cold)

Looking for a coupe, any color, any mileage, almost any condition. I don't care if it's an auto/manual, base/limited or for that matter, what the exterior or interior look like as long as it's not been in an accident and the body panels are dent free. Curb rash on the tires... Bring it on!!! 200k on the clock... The more the merrier!!! Flood Damage... A little water never hurt anybody!!!

If you read that and are thinking you've seen one of these on the brink of disaster cars, I want to know about it because its going to be built as the ultimate monster Crossfire. Yeah, I'll leave the AC in it for the road trips to and from meets and gatherings but non-essentials will disappear faster than your fiances clothes did the night you gave her that big rock!!!

Let me know what you all come up with. Hoping to have something by this spring so Paul and I can both show up in Crossfires cuz you know darn well if I show up in the C, no matter how quick it is, I'll still be getting a bunch of **** for it.

Take care

Or the cheapest I found

You should make this into a competition. Whoever finds the cheap Crossfire you buy gets to be the first one to test drive the monster you'll create out of it.

I'd be game for that! They're gonna need to be a lot cheaper than those though. Those are all still nice cars and it would be a shame to tear them down to build a race car out of them. I need to find one that is on it's last leg and in need of serious revival. (Think blown motor, bad trans/clutch or some other serious drivetrain issue)

I now have a strange desire to go blow-up the motor and trans on my car.
Hopefully you can find a car before I destroy my own just to see what you have in store.

There was a black base coupe in the northeast this fall on eBay, had something like 160,000 on it, I think.

It sold for $4450. Is that the range you are thinking? That is the cheapest one I've ever seen - and I was looking for a LONG time this summer for an "around the town beater". It was the closest I found.

(It sure looked nice, I must say, not beat up at all but WOW what a lot of miles.)

Yeah, I'm hoping for 2-3k but thinking 3-4k is probably more realistic. You never know though. A year ago, I found one that was a theft recovery that was missing the engine, trans and part of the interior and they only wanted $2500.

Yea, you of all people should have, probably, jumped on THAT one.

Well, the one I cited was the cheapest I've seen... but there will be more.
If I run across one, you can be sure I'll pass it along... I'm invested in two - and I'm not
looking for a third in any way, shape or form.

Rudy, I'll GIVE you my car to build your monster out of as long as you promise to give it back to me when you get bored with it.

I noticed that one on ebay as well because of the price and that it was nearby. I was surprised to see it the following week on craigslist after the supposed ebay sale.

If you didn't find a car yet here is another listing. Still not in the 4-5K range you were looking for but who knows what you could get them down to.
2004 Chrysler Crossfire, $6,495 - Cars.com

That is my kind of car. I restore mg, Sunbeam, etc. for a hobby. But the thought of getting Crossfire parts leaves me cold. I am glad I bought cars that need no restoration. I have to wait many years for another. gary
