Hey Metal,

Doesn't look like anyone ever responded to this ad, but I just wanted to ask you what your experience with the ownership of the Dodge Magnum SRT8 was (assuming the one you were selling back in January was yours).

I am seriously considering one of these as my next more "family" oriented cars for a number of reasons (e.g. values are low, high performance, fun to drive factor, wagon awesomeness, cargo factor, uniqueness, and compliment to my SRT6).

Did you like owning yours? Complaints? Positives?

Definitely would be interested in hearing your opinion.

Thanks.

The car wasn't mine, it was a company car. We used it to haul product to small, local car shows. While I can't comment on its day to day driving pleasure, I can certainly say it is fun. It is fast! Much faster than I anticipated, especially considering its size. It was also quite comfortable; the seats had great lateral support for when I would give some juice in the curves.
Overall, a very good car. To my knowledge there were never any issues with it.
My only gripe is blind-spot and rear visibility - then again, the X-Fire isn't exactly great in that aspect either...

Def buy one, you won't regret it! No major issues with these cars, some have problems with the outer tie rods going after about 40k miles but its an easy $30 fix. Mine just needed to be replaced at 74k miles. If you're shopping for modified RTs, the early build 05s tend to need the o-ring replaced on the tranny, but most people had them done under warranty when the TSB was issued.
I have an RT with SRT suspension and Hotchkis sways and it handles great! SRTs don't have MDS, but with my RT I get around 25mpg hwy.
If you go over to LXForums you should be able to find the car you're looking for.
If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Metal, is the SRT still available or did it sell? I assume it's gone based on the past tense used in your reply but there's a couple of current WTB ads on LXF.

Ed

It is gone. Sold it for a hair under the asking price but I kept the wheels. Still, I think the buyer got one heck of a deal.
