YES which is why I was going to update the list AFTER this weekend.

You all already have (at least) one, leave a couple out there for the new guys.

Found another one, 80k, 1 owner, garage kept, no dings, but 12900.
How you buy a car out of state?
Do I have to pay twice taxes? Does not make any sense???

No, usually you only pay the taxes in your state when you title and license it.
Buying out of state can be tricky. You never want to send funds to a stranger. The car just listed was with a dealership, so they could handle most of the details for you. Buying from an individual is another matter. I was trying to steal a third car....I won't pay over 10k for one and that is less shipping if it isn't close enough for me to go get it myself. Which is what I prefer. Good luck, and we will all help you if you find one....good luck....

As oledoc2u said, you only pay taxes in your state.

As for buying out of state, I've done it twice.
My 05 from an Indy dealer in ny and my 06 from a forum member.
The 05, I placed a small deposit and paid the balance when I picked it up.

The 06, the seller in CA still had a lien on it so I financed it thru my credit union. They paid his lender and I wired the balance to him.
Since I couldn't personally inspect the car, he took it to a Chrysler dealer for a pre-purchase inspection, I paid ($250? )
It's my garage queen, so I had it shipped to DC in an enclosed carrier for about $1250?

Good luck

When buying out of state from an individual (without a doubt the best way to buy a car) I would suggest also printing up two copies each of a mileage statement, a bill of sale and documents confirming any other important aspects of the deal. You should also check the laws in your state regarding how to deal with the license plate and auto insurance and be able to prove coverage and ownership if need be on the return trip.

The last time I bought a car in Florida I had to pay tax but when putting it in my name in Tennessee I had to pay only the difference between the Florida tax and the higher Tennessee tax. I recently looked into buying a car in Georgia. The dealer insisted he had to collect tax but an Internet search of Georgia laws related to out of state car sales indicated he was not being truthful. I did not do the deal.

To be honest. If I like a car than I get there to get it myself. I want to drive it myself . Does not matter where it is. However never bought out of state. Does the dealer give you a temporary tag to drive it home when I show coverage? I can't believe I can't find a SRT in FL.

So you made a great deal without seeing the car. Lucky you. As a woman I always feel not to trust dealerships.

There are tons of crossfire out there. From 0 miles to 195000 .
Yes I have one. But there is missing a SRT6 in my collection and I will get one. Just need to be patient, determined and have money/loan ready to go.

Depends on the dealer and state. Worse case, just bring your current plates.

That's the thing about limited production cars (less than 4000 made). They are unique but sometimes in short supply. Surprisingly, prices have not increased yet. You just need to be patient. Winter is coming

good luck!

So I could use my tags from my XF? What if cops stop me?? They do that all the time, I guess because they don't know the car and I am a female .......

So if you deal with a private seller you try to get the price down, right? I guess depending on the mileage and reasonable wear and tear. How much you would go down to make an offer? Just curious. Let's say 80k SRT Coupe $12900 1 owner, garaged car

I don't know of any state that legally allows you to switch plates on cars without going to jail. If you buy it from a dealer out of state they will put a temp plate on it till you get it transferred in your state. I've bought two from out of state without a problem. The state that you buy it in will charge the tax and the state your going to will wave the tax as already paid. This is the way it has worked for me twice anyway. I'm sure others will chime in.

I hope FL does the same ... they are kinda weird here. And yes, I guess using my own tags not such a good idea, as my XF is a roadster, otherwise they wouldn't know the difference.
