Default Alternative diffuser

I have a thin rear diffuser on my Crossfire as an alternative to the OEM and Startech.

I have had several people ask for one like this but made a little thicker. I have found a source to make them. They would be painted grey primer (similar to the OEM) and you could leave them that way or have them painted to match your Crossfire's body color (or contrast!)

The would be a fairly simple bolt on using some of the existing mounting points and self tapping screws for the rest. This mounting method is VERY strong. I have had mine on for around two years at speed up to 130MPH (on the track of course) and they are a solidly attached as the day installed. Quick and easy install with instructions and mounting hardware.

Please indicate which you like best. I am shooting for a sub $120 price point plus $20 S&H to the continental US via FedEx Ground 4 day.

I like the idea. Will they work in conjunction with the OEMs? I would like to see what the thick ones look like, not photoshop. James

Sounds like it would be a great product at a fair price, coudl care less if it was a little thinner or thicker, as long as it looked like it belongs and is not clearly some aftermarket addon, or dare I say, a 'universal' piece LOL

The picture of the thin diffuser is real, no photo shop. I removed it for the first one and and doubled the thicknes for the thick one.

My thin one is made of 1/4" polycarbonate. This is one tough material. When I made my set I went through a few jigsaw blades cutting it. Thicker versions are even bullet resistant. Personally I think the 1/2" will be just right, but may use a different material that will be lighter and less expensive. I will not compromise durability, nor contract them out.

Thanks for all the advise and comments. Hope to see more.

Karl,

I was wondering if it would be possible to do something that covered both sides, as they do now, but also something that would 'bubble' out beneath the exhaust. I think this could look very neat, as many of the supercars rear diffusers incorporate the exhaust as well. Any ideas??

As you can see from the picture, yes they would work with the OEM diffusers. I should have something available mid December.

Karl,

Any thoughts on a third piece to go under the exhaust and give it a more 'complete' look? Just a thought.
