KPI Custom lighted door sills available now!
Re: KPI Custom lighted door sills available now!
I just emailed and got a response from Steve today to that question, and he said that they had some trouble with getting parts in before this. here's the direct response:
Mark,
"We anticipate shipping to begin next week.
It's taken longer than we originally thought to get everything
In stock but we will waste no time once we have everything in hand."
so that's where it stands

Hey man,
Thanks for the feedback. You found out alot, I'm not worried. They are a good company and do good work. I'll be glad to get them though, I think they will be very cool looking.
I have a lot of projects starting. SRT6 big rotors on front and new pads all around, rebuilt front calipers, red paint, need to paint the rear calipers too, 2004 rear view mirror, 74mm throttle body. I need to wait for the weather to warm up a little before I start on all these.

yeah I'm not worried about it either, and in any event it's too darn cold to work on it anyway. I was going to put on the DCAI that I got from Beaner and the 74mm TB but couldn't get the TB MAF hose off it was so freakin' cold it was solid like a rock. The sills would have to sit until it warmed up anyway.
Re: KPI Custom lighted door sills available now!
got my door sills in yesterday, and Steve was right, they are beautiful. Brushed steel on the face, polished on the top, and the wiring connections integrated to apparently hook into cabling behind the seat. They really do like nice, very elegant and tasteful. Mine are the white lit letters that just say Crossfire, so I'm really looking forward to when it warms up and I can get them in. But based on thee winter so far it's gonna be awhile. or depending on your mood.
Re: KPI Custom lighted door sills available now!
Well, After a rather hectic work week... I've finally gotten a moment to sit down and comment on these.
Last week, I took my Crossfire down to KPI to have the sills installed. Last time I had been there, I had only seen the prototypes. The finished version did not disappoint at all! Stephen and Dave began setting them up right away. They came out great,But due to time constraints, I had to leave for work before they could complete the install.
Stephen really wanted to get them done for me asap, So he offered to come up to my house(over an hour away) to finish them up. I instead suggested that they could meet me at work later that evening if they preferred. Since the drive would be much shorter!
Shortly after arriving at work, Dave called me to let me know he was on his way. Once he arrived, Dave went right to work!
The outcome is beautiful and tasteful in my opinion. After living with them for just over a week now, I get tons of compliments and questions. In fact, An SL500 owner parked next to me the other day and when he saw the sills he just had to know where to get a set. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him the illuminate as well! I personally, Could not be happier!
So thank you very much to Stephen,Dave and the rest of their family! I couldn't be happier with the product itself nor the excellent service and attention to detail provided by everyone at KPI.
For those wondering..I went with the white lighting. It has just enough of a blue tint at night that it matches the SSB color very well. A few pics taken with my iphone below...

KPI:
for some reason I thought you guys had a big open house once a year in Dallas area. I do want to come by and meet you guys, I'm going to be in Dallas area for the "Running of the Crossfires" at the speedway on May 6,7,8. I'm going to try and come by on the 6th, hopefully around 2pm. I'll get closer on the time as we get closer to the date.
Thanks,
