Nothing but rain here, I'll get some as soon as the sun comes out...

I think it looks great on my graphite crossfire.

I am going to buff it tomorrow and put it back together.

I'll post some pics tomorrow if the weather is good for taking pics.

Sorry about the rain...
I'll get some better pics when it is nice out.
Am I missing something here? I was under the impression the roof had already been painted black according to the first post in this thread. Unless my eyes are shot, there is no black on that roof. What you see is some light drizzle and the shadows of the trees on top of the car. So what's up, has it been painted or not? From what I get out of this thread it has, but your waiting on better weather to get some pictures. What does the picture you posted have to do with the paint job other than show the car was outside during a light drizzle at some point in time and parked near some trees?

~ it is hard to make out... but the roof is indeed black in the photo... better pics (as promised to follow) will make it much more visible... an aerial photo from a second story window would be cool.

i would like to see this on an alabaster crossfire for a greater contrast.

If you say so... sure looks like a graphite roof to me.

Whoa!! Nice paint job!! Very subtle on the graphite, me likes!! I also think you should at least do the wing, but it looks great like it is, kudos for the risk taken!!

Now that I can see!!! Looks real good. Ditto on doing the wing and maybe taking it all the way down the back. IMO graphite is the perfect factory color for that paint scheme... don't think black would look good on the other colors. If folks wanted a two tone, maybe paint their cars a few shades darker than their original color.

Thanks for the kind words.
I am still considering continuing it down the hatch to the bumper. It is very subtle.
I felt it was important to have no peel in it to complete the effect. It is much smoother than the factory paint on the car.
Disassembly, prep, paint, polish and assembly took me 5 hr. Just wanted to give you an idea if you are planning on having it done so you don't over pay too much.

Beautiful job! The effect is subtle, as you say, but also spectacular and very classy. It sure does make the windshield surround pop, though--do you have any plans for that too? I know some models already have a black surround, and reducing the contrast might work well with your tinted glass as well as with the new roof.

I don't know for sure yet, I have tons of ideas but If I put too many of them in one car it will look tacky.
I think I am going to stick with the silver unless I go to chrome rims in the future. Then it will open up more options.
I did consider doing the surrounds body color, but the silver is quite bold...
hmmm, decisions decisions decisions...

Also, this site has one of the most positive articles on the Crossfire I've ever seen. I can't believe I never came across it before tonight.

Too true, I think good ideas just stick around...lol
I remember a 68 super bee with a black painted roof whit vinyl top trim.
It was bad a**.
I also painted the roof on my 95 saturn sc2 black years ago... It had a sun roof, It looked good with the tinted windows too.
I don't really miss that car though.

I like that idea... Check this out:

I think I may have this done, since I have to have the car repainted anyway. ( https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=10039 )
