I think I may have this done, since I have to have the car repainted anyway. ( https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=10039 )

Honestly, for me, I really don't dig it that much. Sure it is different, but is it really better? It kind of reminds me of the "tuner" cars with those black carbon fiber hoods...seems to me like they need to have their hoods painted.
Here is a thought question: If all Crossfires came with black painted roofs, would yours look better if you had your roof painted the same color as the rest of the car?

This is why customizing cars is so much fun, you can tailor it to your own taste.
I see lots of stuff here I would not do either but I like seeing what others are doing.
I think a black roof as stryfox will really look sharp on my blaze red! I just wanted it to be like factory finish to last very long!
Do you have to remove the entire roof to paint it?

you will have to pull the two plastic trim pieces on the edges of the roof... sand, tape & paint.

I painted the two side strips black too.
Then just snap it all back together.
I've seen the same style (with black roof) on the new Bimmer M3 and M6 but I think it'll look good on the red blaze and SSB.
What I'm concerned of is the durability of the paint to last long like the original paint, any suggestions what kind of paint I need to use? I like the glassy type that Stryfox has.

Definitely go with a good automotive grade base clear.
Most of the manufactures have different grade of paint available.
I used PPG concept clear.
Other paints I feel good about are:
Sikkins, Dupont, BASF.
Ones I stay away from are, RM, Sherwin Williams, and any other brand I never heard of before.

Looks good, I would do it.
But, then again I already did.
I think it looks good with the red.
You could try adjusting the contrast in photoshop to make it blacker. Might help.

For those who want a temp situation, leasing, only keep car for a few years, I understand that the advancements in vinyl have come a long way. Has anybody had any experience with it???
