Question about the color Sapphire Silver Blue
i'm looking for pictures of colors to see what i like. i'm looking at an srt-6 so colors are limited. anybody have pics of the sapphire silver blue? every picture i see online looks like a regular silver, is there really any blue in it. for example, this looks like a regular silver to me:
yes. even though it looks more silver than blue. i think the lighting conditions will influence how blue it looks. i would imagine that outdoors in bright sunlight it will take on more of a silver hue.
Yeah, it's one of those weird color names. The first XF I ever drove was SSB I didn't even notice the blue hue (and I was an art director) there is blue in the paint, but they really stretched to refer to this car as blue...it's SILVER.
Have a look a Blue XF...no question there. Oddly, I really didn't care for the other colors other than Silver and Graphite at first, but it's amazing how the colors transform/communicate the shape of this car...I like them all now.

Check out things like the windshield surround and the gills, the door handles, etc. Then look at the paint. Its more a differential blue than it is a real blue.
Do a search and check out the gallery (what's left of it); it all depends on the lighting.

SSB definitely looks different depending on the light. I would not call it silver -- it is exactly as the name says -- Sapphire Silver Blue.
My roadster has the Dark Graphite/Cedar interior with the SSB. At first it seemed like an odd combo, but after driving it a short time I love it.

My Crossfire is Sapphire Silver Blue. Sometimes it looks really silver, but other times it almost looks sky/light blue. When my friend parked his silver CLK next to mine, my car instantly looked blue.

I can't seem to get the blue to show in any digital images even when it looks pretty blue to my eyes. There is another blue color that you may be thinking about that came around in '05. I forget the name of the blue but it looks deeper blue.

Looks BLUE to me. Maybe it is your computer.
That Crossfire in the photo looks too high though.
Major fender well gap. Needs to be lowered IMO.
OOOOOOOOO Aero Blue...Beautiful!

Yeah, that SSB color is a real Chameleon! I am ever-amazed at how sometimes the color looks exactly like silver and at other times it really looks like a light blue...you would swear that it is a different car in the right conditions.
A very, very cool color.

In the sun it looks very silver, in the shade it looks silver with a blue tinge to it. At night it looks completely silver... However parking it next to silver cars makes them all look flat grey. Especially grey MB sedans, this car puts them all to shame.
The SSB definitely adds some depth to this car, it works really well with the curves and lines in this vehicle. It's by far my favorite color on this car.
