Xfire1:

You'll see photos of the new Solstice D1 (formula drift) car on April 28th. I'll post them here after I get back from the PR / publicity shoot that GM hired me to do with Rhys Millen.

The GXP Club Racer you are talking about is not scheduled for release until late fall... And to be perfectly honest with you, I decided to buy a proper race car instead of building one from a production vehicle again. I just don't have the time and energy to build one without full factory support.

I'm going with either the Formula Mazda, Mazda Sports Racer or SCCA SRF. Not sure if I want another open wheeler or sportscar. Either way, the Crossfire is just going to sit in the garage and I'm not going to spend another dime on it...

BTW, don't you just love the convex auxiliary mirror? I can't drive a car without them. I am surprised how many people don't have them...they are an absolute must in my book.

Here ya go... Now this is a what I'm talking about... Sorry that DC didn't see the light with the Crossfire
240 HP, 2,700 lbs, $27,000, removable hard top and a built-in SCCA RACE CLASS...

I've been thinking about the Sol GXP too (to replace my clunky '06 mustang GT as daily driver) and I like the color and the stripes! Thanks Derek!

I'm still keeping the XFIREX in my garage...nothing can still beat it's styling and design!

I prefer this (in a Redline version):

Come September 27th it's going to be a tough choice between the Sky, an SRT-6 and the Z4 coupe:

Yes sir: You are right, but I'm only looking for a competitive class for SCCA racing... Both cars are beautiful, but I doubt either will have the factory support of the Solstice... I wish DC had the same foresight to promote the car in the tuner world, now I have a Crossfire that is half built and half raced...

Thanks again for providing this forum.

That old term "pocket rocket", i've used describing the crossfire would not be appropriate for the non-base Solstices... as pictured in the previous posts...

there is a nostalgic yet monstrous lure about the solstice's projection...
it looks tough...serious ...well thought... ground2ground missile...

the fact that it is a born and bred american (is it?) is VERY appealing as well...

the Z4 is slick but still cant sway me from the XF's projection...

BTW ...HDDP... should you store HDDPXF in the garage... maybe someday you might find someone asking to buy it!
... who is looking to race the XF when there is ample access to modifications placing the XF into a competitive class Unless you are waiting for that day as well...

That BMW roadster just gets stranger and stranger looking at every redesign. Just when you think it is going to get better...bam! it gets stranger.

Saw the first one on the road two days ago. It was black, very, very nice car. I'm sure they wont be able to keep them in stock. It was driven by an older woman. That surprised me. I was sitting at a light and she was on the cross road, passed right in front of me. Stared at the Crossfire all the way through the intersection.
I like em but I like mine more better!

Well said. I totally agree ('cept I don't know what the older woman part was surprising).
