Default Cargo area interior pieces

I'll try to be brief. I'm sure I've posted that my Xfire was in some type of a crash before I bought it. My problem is with the interior pieces in the cargo area. Many of the plastic pieces do not line up properly. For instance the piece of plastic under the interior cargo window does not sit flush against the lower piece leaving a gap of about 1/2 inch. It is also like this on the other window. I think when the car was fixed, the interior was removed and not properly replaced. My question is, is there anywhere I could look to find out how to remove the interior pieces and then put them back in properly. My wife says to leave it alone, because no one can see it. I told her that I can, but I don't want to start taking things apart without knowing how to properly install them. Has anyone taken apart their cargo interior or have any idea where I can get some instruction. Any info greatly appreciated. Bob

OK I guess I'll try this. Does anyone have a picture of the cargo area of their car that would include the window. I would like to see how the plastic molding under the window looks as compared to mine. Thanks, Bob

Bob, I'm not sure exactly what area you are talking about but I can take some photos tomorrow and email them to you. If you will just PM me with the exact areas you want photos of it will help. Are you talking about the small side window area? Dan

Bob, you may want to send a PM to HDDP. He's pretty much "gutted" his interior because he races his XF. He may be able to help you out with some of your questions.

Dan's photos should help too.

~ here you go... hopefully these will help.

light colored plastic trim pieces are held in by plastic threaded push clips or metal push clips (pull hard to remove). dark gray plastics are held on by plastic push pins...you must remove the center plastic pin to remove trim.

I've been able to get the pictures of the cargo area onto the gallery. If Danimal or Andrew or any other member has any idea how I can fix these two pieces of plastic to get them where they belong I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry for all the confusion with the pictures, but at least now they are available on the forum, Thanks Bob

Not to stray from the intended subject too much but...

Hey Andrew, tell me about that cargo cover. Does it work well? Was it worth the money? Did you find a good deal on it?

Andrew, I looked through the service manual and of course they don't show those pieces. I just looks like to me that they are not clipped in correctly. I PMed Bob and recommended you or HDDP for possible help on getting them installed correctly.

First I want to say Thank you to Dan and Andrew for pointing me in the right direction. The problem has been resolved. Dan mentioned the service manual so I gave that another look. I looked under seat belt retractor. I thought if you had to work on the seat belt, you had to be able to get to it which would mean you would have to take off the cover. There it was. Three screws and a lot of prying. Who ever put the covers back on, jammed them in, breaking off one plastic clip on each side and jamming the plastic behind the clip. This caused the plastic to bulge in the middle, causing it not to sit properly. After doing a lot of gentle pulling (didnt want to lose the clips) I lined everything back up and re-installed the covers. Aside from each side missing a plastic clip, the covers sit properly again. I think I finally have this car back together. Great Forum! Thanks again, Bob

i love the cargo cover... it should have been standard imo.

i paid about $240 for it. the cover is fairly easy to install (diy) in just over an hour or so.

it really finishes off the hatch area & does a great job of covering your valuables.
