Default Fold away mirror

I realize that the side view mirrors fold away. While I was waxing my car today, I figured I fold the mirrors out of the way. Well I tried to fold the drivers mirror in or around and I thought I put plenty of pressure on it to make it turn. It didn't and I quit. You do turn the mirror counter clockwise to turn it correct? Does it take a lot of force to turn them in?

i tilt mine up after every washing... this allows the excess water to drip out while i dry the rest of the car.

they turn either direction. swing into the door or outward towards the fender -- try again.
