Oh yeah baby, nice. Poly is great as it is very strong and flexible to a point. Nice work Tino and get us those pictures ASAP.

 

here is now the new grille with the new center strut. we have remove on top of the center strut 5mm each side, on bottom 10mm each side. i think it looks now much better.

what do you think?

Looks like there is going to be a grill after all. Since this vehicle seems to have reached the end of it's run, anyone really interested should get this grill while it's available. I don't see too many new products for us on the horizon. I wonder how it would have evolved.

 

That looks really sharp Tino, thanks for continuing development despite the usual poop heads.

 

Here's a quicky PS, just to get an idea of what it will look like.

 

LOL, impartial and unbiased positive thinking.

The only thing I would suggest tino is to place behind an even smaller black mesh grill so you can't see through it or use heavier mesh. Otherwise its awesome.

 

Tino now that the grill is done you just have to fit a proper mesh. Here is what you should be aiming for.

the bentley have the same mesh in the grille. so you can say you have a part of a bentley. also if you have seen a jaguar xjr or a bentley, you realize, that you need a lot of light to have a look behind the grille.

i hope i can fit the grille painted on a crossfire asap.

The Bentley I saw recently looked like it had a mesh grill from a distance. Upon close inspection, it was actually a heavy cast grill with the appearance of mesh.

 

Ah thanks Tino, it is hard to tell from photos. Again thanks for the quick response. I think if you place the grill in a car and take many pics from close and far and from different angles like side view and 3/4 view people will be happy. Great work.

There's only one way to tell. When can we see this thing on an actual Crossfire?

 

Not wishing to take anything away from Tino as he's been doing a fantastic job with the grill and invested a lot of time and effort and also reacted to the initial criticism to give people what they want. But just for clarification the Bentley grill is not just a simple mesh mesh, it looks and feels like chromed injection moulded plastic to me, albeit of exceptional quality. I went to the Bentley dealership some time ago to take some pics and check it out. (posted the pics here somewhere, but can't find the thread!) I'm sure Tino's version will also be of the highest quality but replicating the Bentley 3D 'mesh would be prohiitively expensive in terms of tooling.

But in actual fact it is much more complex than that...

no its not that type of grille. this is the new bentley. if you have a look to the jaguar xjr you will see the right type of grille.

the new bentley have a ABS plastic chromed grille. our mesh is stainless steel electronic polished. so its completely different. but i'm sure the old bentley have this stainless steel mesh also. sorry, i cant check it at the moment, in my garage is actually no bentley.
