I changed mine at 18K, and it was filthy. Sometimes there was a sour smell when i would start the car and turn on the AC. Changing the cabin filter cured this.

Same here. I changed mine at 15K and it was a mess. They're cheap enough, so I change mine once e a year in the spring.

Hi Everyone,

I've searched my service manual and I'll be darned if I can find any information on this filter element. Any suggestions?

I changed mine at about 23,000 miles. I searched ebay using the M-B part number and got one NIB for about $17 plus $6 s/h...so I decided to do it.

Changing it was sort of a struggle. Getting the new one positioned right isn't easy but if your are patient and a little lucky, it's a 15 minute exercise.

I took mine out today and vacuumed it and brushed it off. It was pretty dirty in there but I think I prolonged the life of the filter...maybe, we'll see, it definitely smells better coming out of the A/C.

That's a good price. Amazing what they pay and then what they charge us.

I pulled mine again this past weekend, still very clean. It must be because I always use the A/C in recycle mode.

Almost a year on the road and 3,000 miles and I just pulled mine out last weekend. Kind of a PIA to get to but it was pretty messy, even with just 3,000 miles on the car. I cleaned it out real good and will replace as soon as I can get by the Chrysler dealer.

Here you go...

- It is located on the passenger side, under the dash, just forward of the glove box.
- Remove two screws on the cover, pop it out, slide back two plastic clips and pull the filter straight down and out.
- It can be a little tricky putting the filter back in and sliding the clips back on the first time you do it. Just play with it, and everything will go back in place. The second time you do it, it will be a snap.

I was going to replace mine, but I can't quite figure out where it is or how to get it out.

i was at a loss looking under the dash as well... but here are some more detailed pics...

once you remove the cover/panel under the glove box & passenger foot well area.

this is what you see...
coverattached.jpg

you need to slide back each clip (off white color) to remove filter cover... then pull filter out (it stands up on end).

pic of cover removed:

pics of filter at 25k (new - old): revised m/b part number
