Tempted by the fruit of another...
OK, I think I need some sense knocked into me. Yesterday driving by the local Chevy lot I saw her. Only caught the corner of my eye, so after I went to Wal-Mart I turned around and went back. She was still there. 2003 BMW 325Ci 5 speed, azure blue metallic, tan leather interior, moonroof. This is the car I have longed for ever since I had my first BMW, a 1986 325 E. Am I crazy? I know I could do this car for a couple grand and my Crossfire. Andrew? You have had both BMW and Crossfire. Is the Crossfire superior? Somebody smack me before I go to the dealer on Monday and drive her.

Of course I would mod her heavily. M3 wheels and tinted window would be first. (Oh no, I am already planning my mods!)

too funny...
the bmw is a better built car imo... hands down.
but ... the crossfire is sooo uniquely different & rare to see... and this makes up for some of its loses i can overlook. its uniqueness is what i love about this car. damn near a piece of art.
keep the crossfire for now & hold out a couple years for a used revised '07 coupe with the sport pkg. the e46 chassis is growing old. i had an '00 323ci sport & the '02 M3. personally i'm growing tired of that design.
if you do end up with an e46 coupe... modded or not... indeed purchase a sport package car... the seats are worth the money alone.
and by the way...not that this will help... but i can't begin to tell you how much i love the new 330i i just purchased... what an outstanding all around car.
go test drive an '06 330i "sport"... and report back. you'll be hooked.

Oh, and I know what you mean about the sport seats. Here is a pic of the 1988 BMW 325iC that a gave my wife for Christmas this year. (complete surprise, gotta love e bay 102,000 miles, all original, always garaged, $4800, it is a perfect car.) This is her "fun" car. She just took it yesterday to Long Island NY with 3 of her hottie friends (OK maybe only 2 are hot) to go to some of the vineyards on the east end. I gotta tell you, I really think I like driving this BMW more than the CF. Not too bad for an almost 20 year old car, huh.
Now you can see why I love the BMWs. Always have, always will.

Here's one of my wife and daughter.

For my money the 2003 BMW looks very dated. Where I live there are a ton of the BMWs so they aren't special in any way.
My XFire attracts more attention than just about any car that I run across. Certainly more than the BMWs.
